is it a large CO? I'm curious as to who it is if it's a chain.
How long ago did you buy it?

People really need to find out what the refund policy is and get it appraised independently immediately if it's not a GIA or AGS stone.

I purchased it from Diamonds International and had it apprasied when I had it reset into a Gelin Abaci tension setting. It was purchased stating that it was a D SI2 and came back thru Borsheims as a H-I and I2. Ugh! Im so upset. My DH is really mad. Today I plan on calling DI and seeing what they can do. We purchased the diamond kinda on a whim (thought we got a decent deal) and then it took me forever to decided on a setting. I just received it back. Ill let you know how things turn out with DI. Im pi$$ed at DI husband is mad at Borshiems. Kim

^ i understand you thought the stone was one thing and it turned out to be another, but didn't you love the stone when you bought it? my gut would always tell me if a diamond does not have paperwork (GIA, AGS, EGL) and you get it appraised embrace yourself b/c you may not like the results.

Gl! i hope you get everything squared away.

I don't know if it's too late, but the purchase of a diamond should be contingent upon the results of an independent appraisal. That means an appraisal done by an expert who is not associated with any jeweler or selling jewelry on their own. I would try to return the diamond because it was not as represented, when sold to your husband.

Diamonds International supposedly has a 30 day policy that if your diamond receives an independant appraisal for less than what you paid you get your money back. (last time I checked). I know someone who was very unhappy with their independant appraisal, and tried to return it well within the time period and was given total hell. Sorry about your situation and good luck!
