^^ It doesn't look dry to me? Perhaps a bit stiff like most 2009 bags so far? It looks like it'll break in nicely over time.

I am not interested in stiff grainy Bals, though! I wonder what Erica's policy is regarding leather preference. She only got this one for this shipment. But I dont want to get a less than perfect bag! I've seen raisin on the forums and they've been lovely and soft. Not like this...

Erica doesn't allow returns or exchanges for leather preference. If you're unsure, then pass on the bag. Wait for one you'll be entirely happy with. I met this lady today that had a very soft Raisin Day, not stiff like this one either.
I think it's really hard to tell what leather is going to feel like from only a photo. For the past 2 days I have been trying to get decent pics of my new SGH VT PT which has the softest, puffiest distressed leather and the photos make it look dry and crackly.
Leather wise, this raisin doesn't look any different to me than the others posted on the forum. The texture looks even, the color saturated. I wouldn't pass on it if it were me.
The 4 bags I have that are the softest leather ever, looked like they would be dry in the photos from my s/a's. I'm glad I didn't pass on them!
Why don't you ask Erica for her opinion on the leather? She has a lot of experience and wouldn't lie to you just to sell a bag but instead encourage you to wait for a new shipment.
