We thought it would be fun to have a thread for the 50-ish-plus ladies.
It was started it in the Balenciaga forum, but we realized we have such a diverse collection, it would be fun to include all brands.

So show us what you've got and let's chat.

Let's be a group that celebrates our wisdom/maturity (whatever words are appropriate/politically correct for the fact we aren't 20 anymore - or even 30, etc). We still have style and inspiration, we can look great in our clothes/shoes, and have a good eye for fantastic handbags!

Well, alright. I think I've seen a thread like this before, but it's probably many, many pages away.

I've got Hayden-Harnett, Frye, Olivia Harris, and Bottega Veneta. The HH is only a Sam Nylon wallet for my camera and an Erol Mini Tote in Natural (probably will never use this, but I can't get rid of it, brings back too many memories of the HH good times), the Frye is a Danni camera bag for my dog walks, and the OH is a cooler-than-cool leather 'chain clutch' in black.

For BV - my lifeblood - I've got a number of SLGs, three Cervo Hobos, a medium Veneta, and have a Nodini shoulder bag coming my way I'm excited to share ...

Oh, and after a year, I've lost 38 pounds, so I am excited that none of my summer clothes from last year fit me. LOL. Which means I have no shorts, and it is now 92 degrees outside. Time to go shopping!

BV - how luxurious! I plan on having one sometime fairly soon. I just need to find a style that isn't too heavy bit still has structure. I saw one yrs ago that I have never forgotten. If only I had grabbed it.

Congrats on the weight loss!

I'm in!! I don't have a camera or the know-how to upload photos, but maybe one of these days!! Until then, I'll just have to list: I have an LV Speedy DE 35, Valentino Catch satchel, Ferragamo suede clutch. Lots more of the contemporary designers - Dooneys (my first love), Coach, Michael Kors, Brahmin (which I'm beginning to love even more), along with Fossil, Vera Bradley, Spartina and half dozen or so evening bags. I'd love a Chanel some day, and an Alma, either Epi or Vernis, and a Roses Speedy! Also on the wish list is Balenciaga City, Work or Part Time and a Valentino Rockstud. My HG is a Dior Samourai. They are the most beautiful bags I've ever seen. Check out Kellyng's showcase if you've never seen one.

India, congrats on losing the weight!

I own 2 koobas from this year's collection that I love. Hadn't bought kooba for years, but, I think they had some great styles this year. Also a nylon mbmjin a gorgeous metallicky blue nylon, an lv neverfull, Gucci sukey and my newest bag is a prada nylon gauffre. Oh yeah also have an Mz Wallace nylon bar that I love, and lastly I bought a bag from a gallery where I live. It's ano name bag but made of amazing leather. I got it in a lilac/purple color with a British tan colored "belt" that goes around the top.
And I'm over 50!!!

I can't do the pictures either, I tried once and it took me half a day and several people here had to give me instructions!

Anyway, I have an LV DE Speedy 25, Coach Hailey and Hippie both in black leather, two LAMB Walderstons (Calligraphy Roses and Union prints), black leather Kate Spade Tina, Michael Kors Jet Set Pouchette and a beige L Credi Kelly (I won't spend much for a light coloured bag because they go grubby too quickly). My only wallet is an LV DE ZCP.

I'm closer to 60 than 50!

Do you guys feel more 'settled' about your bags now that you're older and have found what you like? I do. I'm 53, by the way - kind of a no-year-year, it doesn't seem like much. :D

In my mind I feel settled, but my actions don't show that I am. Strange. I do know what I like, though. Quality means so much more to me than it used to.

oops, gotta run. I fill finish this thought in a bit.
:smile1:

I have to say I'm a lot more content. I too am closer to 60 than 50, but really it's just a number and I don't really feel that I'm a certain age. I do find however that I'm less worried about what others may think. I'm much more comfortable, less critical of myself. I may be carrying some extra pounds and not have the energy I used to, but I also find I don't make excuses for myself like I used to either. I have loved purses since I was a little girl. I find myself craving vintage bags too just as much as the new ones. When I was younger, I always thought spending a great deal of money on a purse was wasteful (for me) because I wanted a new one each season. I thought then that if I plunked down a lot, I'd have to use just that one bag for ever and ever, to get my money's worth. Boy have my thought processes changed!!!!

I never paid more than $50 for a bag and had one at a time until it wore out, until about four years ago when I got my first Coach. Not sure if it's a sign of age or the amount of money I'm spending now, but I am more particular (bag must be exactly right size and organization, etc.) and I don't buy on impulse, I think about it for a while to be sure I get what I really want.
