no that is untrue coloured diamonds are more expensive than white ones. in fact a 1 ct+ red diamond was sold for over a million on auction that is a price you´ll never ever get for a white one ;)
but they are a good investment :smile1:

Woah! It appears I'm still way in the dark. Before this, I've never heard of red or green diamonds!

I am so happy to see this site!

I love colored diamonds.

I am always on the look out for a deep blue (not grey-blue) diamond that I can use as a center stone, probably in the 1 to 3 carat range, at the right price.

If anyone ever stumbles across one, can you let me know?

Thanks!

fancy intense blue ? good quality? 1 to 3 carat?
that will go from very high 6 to even higher seven figures you know that ?;)

but if you are really interested i can get you in contact with my jeweler (who also works for royalty btw) as i know he has a gorgeous 3.25 ct modified pear shape fancy vivid blue if clarity at the moment. can be yours for 3.2million$

i was actually just browsing jewelry websites and i saw this ring it made me think of this thread lol i never really thought i liked colored stones in engagement rings but the more i see the more i like them.. good luck finding a good stone...:flowers:

Ah a blue diamond would be my favorite pick, but they're soooo pricey. I suppose I can go look at the Hope diamond anytime I want for free. ;)

I love colored diamonds! I have a custom rose gold band with pink diamonds from Graff (check their site) and a platinum with neon yellow/green round diamond (done privately). Any fine jeweller can get you a selection with or without setting to choose from. Congrats!

I have a .95 asscher cut blue diamond as the center stone in my engagement ring. The diamond is treated to give it the blue color, but the diamond itself is very high quality and a the color is a very beautiful, pale sky blue. I love blue diamonds, but the treated ones tend to look murky and cheap to me; DH really spent a lot of time looking for a lighter colored stone.

If you're really interested in a yellow diamond, but are budget conscious, why not look into lower colored diamonds (I mean the M to Z range). They have an obvious yellow warmth to them, especially if you set them in a gold basket, and as an added bonus, they're cheaper!

Over on PS, there's a user named Amethyst with a 5 ct pear, and it's not a fancy yellow, but it looks just like it! It's a low color rated diamond, and it's bright yellow! It's GORGEOUS!!!
