chinadoll, that ring is gorgeous. it looks alot like something i kind of want. right now i'm on the pomellato baby ring.

diamonds are gorgeous, but i really don't want a diamond engagement ring. i kind of like to do things the opposite of everyone else, or at least a little bit to the left!

i'm gonna check out those sugar stacks rings by tiffany as well. i'm into unfaceted stones, but your's is a perfect blend of a classic e-ring style with a bit of flair!

All your rings are beautiful, ladies! It makes me think about getting a colored stone for my e-ring (which I probably won't be getting for another 5+ years). I couldn't decide what was my favorite, the yellow sapphire (esp. love the setting) or ana bug's Aquamarine w/halo setting. I'm usually a simple, solitare girl, but those were amazing!

This, though, would probably be more in line with my choice for a colored e-ring:
OMG! My heart melted when I saw it. What kind of stone is it, carats, setting -- please tell me more so I can dream!

Aww- thanks girls! It's a 4.87 carat sapphire- it's really cool because it looks like a blue diamond in a lot of lighting, tanzanite in my office, and sometimes, darker and richer like the sapphire it is :) We bought the stone separately and played with it before picking out a setting. We looked at a lot of choices (including Memoire, Ritani, etc) and decided to go with with a signed pieces (online) setting in platinum and 8 5.5 point diamonds in G color and excellent to ideal cut. It was a fraction of the price of the branded bands and they were very accomodating for the larger stone.

I'm still getting used to putting it on/taking it off everyday since I'm used to bands that i can sleep in, but i won't complain about the honker of a stone. :p

veggiegrlnc- I can't believe i've never noticed the sugar stacks before! I've been loving colored rings for a year now Tiffany's are always gorgeous. I love love love topazes, but they're a little soft for e-rings and my bf thought they were too inexpensive. Hehe- i'm still going to get a topaz ring for myself, but I want the e-ring to be my only for a while.

My friend has a 14 ct emerald cut tanzanite e ring. It is flanked by two dia guard rings. She recently had it recut and polished as she wears it 24/7 and it looks brand new! I have a 2ct blue saphire with a .25 dia on each side. The stones ae oval and set in plat. I wear it w/ a plaine plat band.

Here in Europe about a quarter of the e-rings you see are coloured, which is great for people like me, who find diamond e-rings a bit "samey".

Mine is an emerald-cut sapphire with three little diamonds on each side. I actually find it attracts more attention than I imagine a diamond ring would. Not because it's particularly big - we're not very rich heh heh - but because it's such a pretty colour and people tend to ask about it.

And then they clearly start thinking about a coloured ring for themselves! I love that.
