I agree that at some point the 1941 bags will hit the outlets, on-line and/or brick-and-mortar. When I walked into my FP store in Atlanta and saw Saddle bags EVERYWHERE I thought, "Well, let me just wait for a while".......and which Coach Marketing Genius thought it was a good idea to make the Saddle bags available for a week THEN take them away right before the holidays!!!! Stupid move. My birthday is in November and by the time I decided to get a Saddle bag they were gone. Now I'm not as interested and will wait.

I never understood why they come out with a style and make it in an insane number of colors all at once. Why not come out with 5 or 6 colors and then come out with some more the next season, and so on? Actually keep a style around for more than a season.

I don't see Coach going away from outlets anytime soon. In their financial reports at the end of 2014, factory/outlet sales accounted for over 70% of their overall revenues, up from 40% just ten years prior to that. They are EXTREMELY dependent on that money coming in so I don't know they have the cash flow to fund shutting down the majority of their sales pipeline. It just wouldn't be good business. They could work a long term strategy but I'm not sure they can pull it off. I have loved Coach and carried it for 20 years but it has gone through several identity crises the last several years and I think they have ventured away from some of what has made them successful. I root for them but I'm worried.

I'm rarely seeing good deletes at outlets. I don't even think our region got swaggers or ace satchels.

I am OK with the sales, providing that it is done within reason. I think 4-6 months is a fair amount of time to purchase a bag you love and feel like you've got some use out of it. In the alternative, I would not wait for a bag I could afford and will like and use, so I just buy FP.

Just because a particular designer does not go on sale (LV, Chanel) does not guarantee exclusivity or a good investment. Pretty much all of them have a terrible re-sale value. LV canvas is better than others, but still be prepared to loose at least 20-30% on a brand new never worn bag. So in the context of Coach, it's the same as buying a bag FP and having it go on sale, except Coach bags cost less than other PD on average, so you may not be loosing upper hundreds to thousands of dollars. I bought a black swagger during the winter sale and honestly it was not discounted THAT much..about 25%.

Couldn't agree more.

I heard quite a few premier brands do this. They shred the bags.

:wtf:
