It's cliche to us and it's hard to see how any girl would read 'Love Yourself' or 'Stay Positive' on a bag or wallet and increase her self esteem. And maybe it's easier to 'Love Yourself' when you have a career like Selena does, or look like she does. But I do think this collection is aimed at the younger people who aren't familiar with Coach or tho who think it's old-fashioned. Many young women may think 'oh, my mother buys Coach' but now they may get hooked on a Selena bag and then go get a cherry print wristlet - who knows! Also positive messages sure beat the whole rhetoric we've been hearing lately about how you need an unnaturally large derriere or breast implants. Or the world of Instagram filters and people's best photos on FB. From what I heard Selena has lupus, a pretty serious and life-threatening autoimmune disease. She has fluctuated in weight quite as a consequence and had to cancel concerts due to hospitalizations + chemotherapy. Maybe young girls see her battle with the illness, her upbeat attitude, positive messages and perseverance and then get inspired. One can hope. I'd rather see a brand pick someone like that and let them collaborate on a line rather than hire one of the Kardashian/Hadid plastic surgery monsters and send the wrong message.

I'm surprised it's not inside a glass case. That poor bag is going to be handled alot by customers and tossed and buried under a huge pile of purses eventually.

Well, at least someone has an opportunity to buy one if they missed out on the contest. The color is certainly gorgeous.
