I love this bag! I want it in the Brown and Coadh as a very simular one that comes in black and tan for $498 and I want the black.

Meme, I'm just like you...it must must must be a comfortable shoulder bag! Did you try it on? Does it work as a shoulder bag? And I mean REALLY work and fit as a shoulder bag?

I hate to order withou being able to try it on but I just had surgery and can't drive for at least another week and I'm afraid that these are going to leave the store pretty quickly.

So what do you think?

I loved the brown but black is practical. Anyway they're both nice. I like the braided straps but does it justify the price difference? hmm...maybe

No, I didn't find that it worked as a shoulder bag but I was wearing a tweed 3/4 coat.

Sales staff tried to convince me to buy right away because it was a hot seller. I can see that about the black and brown with braided strap but the others should be okay. I'm sorry to hear about your surgery. Take care of yourself.

I think this is a timeless bag and the only Coach to catch my eye this season

So I went to Coach store today to check out this satchel. I love the braided handles. It gives a nice classy touch to the whole package. I also like how it opens up like a medicine/doctor bag, but I'm very unsure about the little leather stub you need to pull in order to open this bag. This leather stub is really small... about the size of an inch. What if it rips off after several uses and then you wouldn't be able to open your bag anymore? So I told the SA of my concern and she said if it rips off in the future to just bring it back to Coach and have them repair it if it's still under their warranty.

I also dislike the inside color of this beautiful satchel. For the gorgeous brown one, the inside is purple??!! :weird: It just didn't match the beautiful brown leather on the outside and also for the high price of about $700.

Overall, it IS a beautiful but I'm not sure if I'll pay $700 for a Coach bag that was made in China (maybe because I got my eyes on a Tods "happy" bag and it cost about $250 extra than this Coach).

Irissy, I agree about the liner. I didn't like that thin purple liner and though it is made in China it is well constructed. I paid much less for one of my Coach satchels yet the liner was of superior quality to this pricier bag.

I love the way this bag looks too. I really like coach quality. But it's so expensive for coach! Plus, I'm sure it will one day end up in the outlet for less (which is when I'd be more likely to get it).
