There isn't even anything nice about that Gucci besides the 'status symbols' stamped all over it in a tacky fashion (not that Coach isn't guilty of stamping their logo over everything once upon a time). I swear people will buy ugly bags just because they're made by a luxury company. Of course Gucci has amazing bags, but those tend to be more subtle. As for this 1v1 in particular, one looks like a cheap laptop case while the other looks like well made leather bag. Day and night to meTo each her own though
The OP several weeks old, but I agree the Rogue is very classy and it was a good pick! I know in my own profession, I would feel far more comfortable carrying the Rogue to meetings, court, etc than the Gucci. It has an understated elegance to it. I don't have a Rogue brief, but I have a couple Danier leather briefcases - one inherited from my mom, one that she gave me as a graduation gift so many years ago, and I love how understated they are - no logos, just lovely leather. Even the vintage one has a timeless quality to it. Plus as a regular Rogue owner, I think those side suede pockets would be incredibly handy! I think the Rogue will continue to look professional and fitting decades from now in the same way my Danier leather ones do.
To each their own, but I don't really view the Gucci as fitting into many professional environments, except those where maybe fashion and labels is a bigger "deal" (a.k.a. working in house counsel for...Gucci?). It just seems more "trendy" and seasonal. And while the Rogue line has a "casual vibe" to it, I think in this particular comparison it looks far more professional than the Gucci. The Gucci to me really does look like it is made for someone who just wants to be seen carrying something Gucci. I don't have anything against Gucci - I don't have any of their bags but I do have some of their sunglasses as they fit my smaller face very well - but that briefcase is just not a win for me.
