Coach rogue vs Gucci briefcase! Which do I buy?

I think each bag has it's own separate occasion.

The Gucci looks more briefcase-y and professional. Something that is unisex and a man can easily carry as well. There's no way I can see myself carrying this bag to the mall or to dinner.

I say this as a Gucci and Coach (vintage) lover, so it's really up to you how you want to use your future bag.

I have to vote for the Rogue Brief.

The Gucci doesn't look like it will hold up as well. Rolled handles like those tend to wear poorly where the hardware attaches after heavy use. I think you mentioned that you plan to carry textbooks? In addition, the rounded corners make it difficult for the brief to stand up on its own. I feel like this looks like a Gucci Outlet bag, too, and won't stay in style.

The Rogue Brief is more timeless, better quality (the handles are sturdier, the strap is thick and leather, and there are feet on the bottom), and the price is better! I think it's a no-brainer here :)

My vote is for the Rogue Brief!
Coach has really stepped up their game in the last couple of years, especially with the 1941 collection. I've heard many people say that the quality is even better than many higher end European brands. If you haven't seen the Rogue in person I highly suggest you take a field trip to the closest Coach store and test drive it! The quality is amazing!

Coach isn't new to quality. Back in the 90s and earlier, along with some later lines, Coach's quality was exceptional too. I had two 90s similar crossbodies, one Gucci and one Coach. Comparing them side by side, the Coach was much nicer, and it held up better too. The Coach has a brass zipper, the Gucci nylon. The Coach had feet, the Gucci didn't. Both had suede linings.

Thank you everyone so much!! I love the Coach section on these forums

I'll be heading down to the nicer coach in my area soon, hopefully tomorrow and checking out the Rogue. I agree with you guys, and the original concern I had with the gucci bag was the lack of structure, and it doesn't look very modern and polished. I have always had an amazing experience with my Coach products with great quality, and any issues were resolved quickly. My previous wallet was from the Coach outlet, and the seals on the canvas started to come off within the first year, Coach replaced it right away. Does this one year warranty also apply to 1941?

Hopefully soon I will have my blue coach rogue briefcase with me :)

Congrats!! Good choice
Yes, Coach has a 1 year warranty on all of their bags (from outlet to retail). Plus, they have repair services that you can purchase even after the year is up.
Enjoy your new Rogue Brief!!

I'm glad you got the Coach Rogue! I like some Gucci bags, but this briefcase looks very dated. Coach Rogues are very well made and gorgeous! Congrats!!
There isn't even anything nice about that Gucci besides the 'status symbols' stamped all over it in a tacky fashion (not that Coach isn't guilty of stamping their logo over everything once upon a time). I swear people will buy ugly bags just because they're made by a luxury company. Of course Gucci has amazing bags, but those tend to be more subtle. As for this 1v1 in particular, one looks like a cheap laptop case while the other looks like well made leather bag. Day and night to me :-s To each her own though
