The one I have is Kiwi brand, sold at tons of places that carry shoe polish. It's one of the few rehab tools I didn't have to order. There is an advantage to being able to see and feel it before purchasing.
Hi, my cat jumped on my brand new studded Edie bag and scratched it. will Coach take it for repair?
Coach943, thank you for response. I called boutique, they said they can't do anything about it except conditioning. Scratches are not that deep, but conditioning only wouldn't help. I sent it to Coach to the address listed on their site. what that bag needs is a bit of polishing and re-dying the spot, I think repair service should have this kind of equipment and color.I doubt that Coach would or even could repair it. The repair policy covers manufacturing defects only, so the damage would not be covered under the policy. If the scratches are deep and have penetrated the surface of the leather, they would be very difficult to repair. You could try taking it back to the boutique and asking if there is anything they can do. If you are a good customer, they might just replace it for you or give you a discount on another one.
Hi gang!! I worked on my stewardess bag last night. Its had it's bath and I began conditioning last night. The leather is soft but dry and there are many scratches. Anyway, I used blackrock. Luckily, I only conditioned the strap. The leather looks ok, but it's like a wet noodle. Any thoughts? I'm not sure BR was the best conditioner choice. On the other hand, It seemed too light. I tried a spot and it just didn't want to work in.

I always use a leather conditioner first, and then Blackrocks. I use Leather CPR but I'm sure there are others that are good too. It's absorbed by the leather more than Blackrocks, which seems more like a finishing coat.

I agree with EGBDF. Blackrocks is sort of a wax. It's good for the finishing coat. For deep conditioning, you need another conditioner first.Thank you!! It always seemed the opposite to me. BR for conditioning and CPR for the finish.

Any conditioner is going to soften the leather. That is probably how it was when it was new.
You shouldn't have to dampen the bag in order to condition it. Just don't wait too long.I guess I have my products mixed up. Now that it was mentioned, I do remember putting CPR on damp bags (when I was rehabbing a couple of years ago). So I probably should redunk the strap(?). Should dampen the bag before I apply CPR?
(Thank you Cat!! The two tone has really grown on me)
Ladies, I need your opinion on which leather cement I should get. I have done a search and found so many that I am lost.
What I am trying to repair is the cracking, peeling strap edges of the Madeline. I tried what I had after cutting some pieces off and sanding, got improvement but nothing I am happy with.
Puffed paint
Aleene's Tacky Glue
Edge Kote on top of the tacky glue
The tacky glue mixed with craft paint
I can not get a smooth edge and the cracks where they were not too bad still are noticeable. I think the leather cement is my only other option, to build up the areas where I cut off the peeling material, then use the Edge Coat.
If you have suggestions about other way to do it, please shareTIA

I gave the bath late last week and it too ages to dry. It's been waiting for conditioner for about 4 or 5 days now. I think I should redunk the strap....I guess.
