Finally starting work on this sad little mini pack. One before. And one after a layer of black dye on the bad panel (probably going to need about 4 layers). Thinking of leaving the rest yellow.

Have you ever used Black Rocks Leather n Rich conditioner? It has a tendency to darken leather (Just a little) and it often leaves a little sheen. Use it sparingly, as the last step on the affected area and it might help minimize the damage.
I love Black Rocks on glove tan leather. I will try on this one if dunking and CPR do not work. Thank you.

Groovy …

Well....I would have preferred flowers in the form of charms and hangtags vs. permanently painted on. Was "Grape" a color offered in this style bag? Too pretty and unique to paint over.

I've never seen it in grape or any pretty color. The creed looks brown so it was probably dyed/painted. It looks like they did a good job on the purple. If they had stopped there instead of adding those "groovy" flowers, I would have really liked it.

The product I used for recoloring is The Original Leather Re-Coloring Balm by Furniture Clinic that I purchased on Amazon. The colors I used are maroon and white and mixed them until I felt It was as close as I was going to get.
I've been thinking of ordering the red Original Leather Re-Coloring Balm by Furniture Clinic. I have a red vintage Collegiate bag that is so faded that I gave up on the rehab years ago and it is still sitting in my rehab pile.

What are your thoughts about the Re-Coloring Balm, is it pretty easy to use?

Does anyone have a source for replica replacement straps?

Specifically I'm looking for one for a 9019 Maggie. It's a bit over 1" wide, black, has piping all around, and grommets to adjust the length.

I think this type of strap was used on a number of bags, especially duffles/buckets. Searching for the right one is scrambling my brain.

48 inches. Here's the catalog pic. My strategy would be to find a compatible bag/strap at a good price on another vintage Coach.

Ooh! Maybe! The strap I need is a hair over 1" wide. I'll double-check the measurement and clearance. Thanks!

Coach used to offer replacement straps just like that. I miss old Coach for so many reasons.
