Not so patiently waiting for my red daypack to ship lol I purchased Sunday afternoon, they list “usually ships within 3 business days” so it still is within their time frame. I sell on eBay and always ship the next day but if someone buys on Saturday or Sunday I usually drop off same day.

I guess I’m just whining because I’m excited lol

Morning!
I posted this bag in the "which bag are you carrying today" thread & Syren suggested I post it here.
It's the Cassie bag from the current line-up. Ibought this bag from Macy's (pink & red colorblock) & dyed the colored areas black. Overall it turned out really well. Now that I'm here though, a question...I'm getting some dye transfer & I'm wondering what to do to seal it.
TIA!

Wow, you're so brave! What kind and brand of dye did you use?

Thanks, lol, brave or stupid, yet to be determined!
I cleaned the areas to be dyed with alcohol, which nicely removed the original glaze finish & some of the original color. Wiped with a damp cloth & let dry.
I used Fiebings dye in black. Two coats, drying in between.
I had black & clear resolene but so many complaints about the finish being too shiny (which I did not want), difficult to apply, etc. I didn't use either.
I put on two coats of Fiebings Balm, conditioned it & then applied Apple weatherproofing.
Am I up a creek at this point?
I don't think I'd have noticed the color transfer had I not been wearing white jeans!

My Court is, believe it or not, on her third dose of CPR in 24 hours! Not sticky or overconditioned at all. In fact, she's just starting to lose her stiffness and is beginning to feel soft. I've not dealt with this sort of dryness yet, so this is new for me. I'm going to slow down and use CPR again tomorrow, now that she's softer.

I’m finding it so crazy how much conditioner these bags can drink in! I did my third coat of CPR on my rambler last night and this morning I feel like I could have done another. I’m going to see how it feels later. I unstuffed it and turned it on it’s side to get more airflow to the interior pocket and bottom as they felt ever so slightly damp. I don’t think my bag felt particularly dry either!

Well, the only thing I know that can help prevent dye transfer is vinegar. Think about how that works with dark jeans. However, I'd be too scared to bathe that type of bag. Maybe someone else has a better idea?

I think it looks so good! I have ZERO experience with dye but maybe it just needs more time to set? Or maybe it’s like how no matter the amount of times you have washed a pair of blue jeans they will sometimes still transfer onto a white bag. Maybe this is the opposite and the black will always transfer to white?

I'm looking forward to seeing how yours turns out!

I only knew my Court felt dry because it was stiff. When I applied CPR it dissolved into the leather within minutes. This last time I applied I did feel a very slight tackiness later. So I'll be waiting a bit for the next round.

I'm in love with this purse but I hate that you can still kind of notice the deep scuffs on the flap. Am I just being super picky? I can only really see the worst one on this pic. It's right by the turnlock. I have conditioned and done Blackrocks.

I can see what you’re talking about but I don’t think it takes away from it’s beauty. It makes it uniquely yours! The more I use a bag most of the time I start loving it’s flaws, I develop “relationships” with my bags

Also, is this a Regina? Still learning the older styles.
