Hi! Thought I’d share my recent bag rehab...

When I got this red NYC Saddlery Bag, the leather was dry, splotchy & a little stretched out. I conditioned & the color evened out very nicely (Wish I had taken photos.). When I pulled it out to wear this Valentine’s Day though, I decided it needed a complete rehab instead. I washed, conditioned with Leather CPR & Obenauf’s Oil, then finished with Obenauf’s LP & buffing. I‘m happy with how the leather reshaped & the color deepened a bit.

Love the saddlery bag, it's such a classic coach look, and it looks amazing in red! You did a fantastic job!

There are several places that can do magic with Chanels. Leather Surgeons is one. They'll actually replace the leather where it is needed and dye to match. There are other companies that do good work. People on the Chanel forum can probably recommend one.

Personally, I would feel this is beyond me and I would want to hire a professional for an expensive bag.

Thank you very much for your response

Today was my day to dunk red bags... lazy day so I haven’t yet but I wanted to ask if a dinky has a permanent strap or a removable strap? This is a very filthy bag I got for $10. Is this a dinky? Did it evolve over time? Thanks a bunch [emoji5]View attachment 4354214
It looks like a dinky. It is supposed to have a permanent strap. An earlier version had a removable strap.
