I just wanted to share that I found the way to fix or at least make better, those orangy glue stains that sometimes show up between leather and the zippers.
The suggestion of painting them was the one that "inspired" me, thanks again!

I didn't really want to use paint, but I had some Leather Refinisher, so I used that on the leather. For the zipper itself I was not going to paint the fabric, so very carefully with a toothpick I started to apply bleach, I do not know how many times, but the orange went away! Yay!

Much better now, here are the "before and after".

Awesome job! Looks so much better!

I use CPR until the bag is done soaking it up. Minimum 2 coats, sometimes 3 or 4. Your bag will look even prettier if you get some Blackrock Leather n Rich for a final coat.

It is normal for color to come off. The dyes Coach used weren't colorfast. No matter how much comes off, there is still plenty of dye to keep the color saturated. You can use acrylic paint to touch up the edges of the handle and strap. Coach didn't use edge coating on these earlier styles so it is common for the edges to look a little unfinished.
Thank you, whateve. I’ll do another coat of Leather CPR today and then decide on the next step.

I found Blackrock on Amazon and they will ship that product to Canada so I’m in luck.

I didn’t know about the lack of edge coating for early Coach styles. I’ll do some reading on this thread to look up how to do the touch-ups.

Thanks again for your time and sharing your wisdom and experience!

You're welcome. I usually just buy craft paint, like you can get at Walmart, in a matching color. I mix it with conditioner and then use a sponge or my finger to apply it on the edges.

Just a few pictures of my rehab of my navy Court bag in progress. Of course I was shocked to see the water (sudsy bath in the sink) turn black...would that be a combination of dirt and the colour?

I’m using Leather CPR for the first time and it works a treat. What a lovely finish and sheen. My bag is just soaking it all in. When I’m using my sponge, more dirt/colour is coming off. It’s kind of slowed down now after two applications. But this bag is filthy! Either that or it’s losing all of its colour. I’m horrified as I’ve been carrying it for the past three months as my weekend bag. :wtf: Ewww....

I see my bag is more worn at the handle than I would have preferred. I didn’t notice it in the eBay photos but perhaps I wasn’t looking as carefully as I should have been. No
Matter. I love this style so much.

Last question: this is at two coats of Leather CPR. Would you recommend a third? Thank you!
A dirty girl that lietrally cleaned up nicely! For that, and because after BT, I love navy, you get the
:panic:  :panic: rating from me! I see whateve has answered your questions!
Ahh what a work week it has been. And a quick perusal shows 999 is on a solid ban (Lord help Coach stockholders), hot mess bag posting, look out everyone Lake is logged on and ready to post! Is it too much hope some idiot seller wants to whine to the authenticators??!!

Yes! Absolutely no bag for me. Even if it was $5! [emoji26]View attachment 4012003

Me too.. I am over my limit. :( My limit is I gotta be able to fit them all somewhere and right now I have about 5 with no homes. Also I have a burgundy kiss lock tote I have had for like 2 years but only used once. That makes me feel like crazy bag lady. I had to go look to see what burgundy bags I had and I discovered that one. I forget about what I have...

And I have a few black bags that have been waiting all week for me to wash them.
