Rehabbers, I have never ever rehabbed a bag before but I’m considering a bag with many scuffs. How hard would it be to get them out?

Specifically this bag (please don’t buy it until/unless I pass on it, thanks)

I am new to rehab as well. Based on my experience with the Leather CPR, I'd say, don't afraid of the scratches, especially on dark color bag. It will be gone after you use Leather CPR on it.

I wouldn't buy it without seeing a picture of the creed. If it is a newer version, like my 2005 one, it won't be soft and supple even after rehabbing.
Hey @whateve she sent me a photo of the creed but I’m feeling strange about it now... any thoughts?

I’ve not seen “individually burnished” on a creed before and also 4 would be 94 or 2004?

But there are some pretty bad scuffs on the back. How does that happen with a bag still with tags on it? Poor storage? I haven't rehabbed anything yet but the scratches seem workable. Good luck and share photos if you rehab!

That’s why I was feeling strange but then I remembered that back when I first joined tPF I bought my then HG bag, a 2007 legacy shoulder bag in raisin with the legacy striped lining. She had deep ugly scratches all over her back, supposedly she was a floor model. I took a chance on her, attacked her with Apple leather conditioner when she arrived and she turned out absolutely gorgeous, just like new.

I miss her still. She died in the fire :(

You can do a lot to reduce the appearance of the scratches, but you have to accept the possibility that it won't necessarily be perfect. That being said, Leather CPR and Blackrock will make a huge difference!

If she’s really a 94 with tags still on, I’m willing to gamble on her. Ramblers Legacy is my favorite bag ever and this blue looks gorgeous apart from the scratches.

my favorite Willis bag is also made in Costa Rica, the leather is so soft, softer than the other one I bought made in Hungary and equally nice or even slightly nicer than the one made in USA (yes, i bought 3 Willis)
I also want to know how to check the creed number. the creed looks authentic to me, the double circle mark seems to be pressed when the bag is sent to outlet or marked down.
What made me hesitate is that this bag has a plastic zipper line. I don't know when coach started use plastic zipper line, every time I saw a plastic zipper bag I will pass, because I assume the bag is either pretty new (later than 2000) or fake. but I maybe wrong.
I am also waiting for @whateve to answer these questions. good case study for me to learn.:flowers:

Whateve will have to confirm but I believe it is actually a 2004. There was a brief period before they got new stamps with the 04 digits in place. Costa Rica was one of those plants I believe.

Aha gotcha, thanks for that info!

That said, an 04 Costa Rica bag has GOT to have nicer leather than a Chinese made bag from the same period, right?

My 2001 Ramblers Legacy has a metal interior zipper but my 2000 day pack (both USA made) has plastic inside and out.

You already got your question answered concerning the creed. I've never had a Costa Rican bag from 2004. I have had a 1999 China bag that had great leather, and great leather on a 2003 US bag. My most recent Costa Rican bag was made in 2002, and the leather was great. I'm looking forward to hear your thoughts once you get the bag, and I'm really curious to know the color name.

I am INSANELY happy about this find!

Also I found an aubergine one on Posh but it’s priced too high so I’m going to pass on it, even if it would be a perfect trio of rainbow Ramblers haha
