Coach quality issues

Hi, I have had a certain wallet for a few years now and I can't recall if the wallet is authentic or not? How can I tell if it is or if it's inspired? Thanks for your help. Talk to you later! =)

"Inspired" isn't the correct word. "Counterfeit" or "imitation" is what you meant. You can use the authenticate thread, as posted above. But if you bought it from an insecure source I'm afraid you may have been mislead.

For all we know, this tPF member's family could be super wealthy and can afford to have all those CC's out there. No one really has any business taking inventory of another's finances here....

On the subject of lasting wallets, I had a leather Mundi Trifold that I carried for over 15 years. I honestly could not remember what I paid for it but I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were still being made when the stitching on mine started to come undone. I ordered another online; it was maybe $20, but after all of these years, I didn't have alot of hope that the quality would still be the same. I was thrilled when my wallet arrived and it is the same great quality as my old one--not a single thing had changed. I've been in the same set up of wallet for so many years now, I probably wouldn't be able to find anything in another wallet.

I know people who collect credit cards....yes, collect credit cards. They do not collect them to use them, they collect them because of the photos or designs on them. They collect ones with sports teams, race cars or whatever on them. They get them and then cancel the card and have the cards in a display hanging on the wall. AND they have a disclaimer stating that the cards are invalid/unusable just in case someone wants to steal them.

Very true. Though these days the uber wealthy only need one or two, now they give them ones with no-limits on them! Must be nice...........:p

uber wealthy don't need to worry about breaking the bank or using multiple ccs since they can pay off that cc bill. Or worry about the forex fee. Most I have is 4. One for online shopping with a low limit, my highest limit card is my credit union's cc and my other one is my pc mastercard. LOL. And i don't even need that many. If I wanted to, I can scale down to the coach small wallet. And pay less for a wallet lol. But I need my library card and my uh student id plus bus pass in case I'm stranded and need to take the bus. Otherwise I wouldn't even be carrying the coach medium zip wallet.

I have a zillion cards. Two are major credit cards with high enough limits that I never need to worry. Then I have 3 debit cards because I have 3 bank accounts. I have store credit cards to a bunch of stores because they give you discounts if you have them. Then I have a bunch of rewards cards. I use all the slots in my accordion wallet for the store cards. I have a small card case for my major credit cards, my health insurance card and my license. I have another case for rewards cards. I'm not uber rich but I pay off my cards every month.

I got a few airlines major credit cards because I got discounts to fly with the card. I only used them once and cancelled them as soon as they started charging fees.

I never like Coach because of its logo printed bags until I got a vintage Coach court bag. I love the style and thick leather, then I decided to give Coach a chance. I bought a Legacy Perforated Penelope Shoulder Purse in Coral. As the strap is too long for me, I double it and wear as shoulder bag and after ONLY 1 DAY, I couldn't believe what happen to my purse. Please see photos below, it is better than any description. I couldn't upload other photos. The damage caused by the contact of the strap and the bag lol. The glaze in the straps also seems very sticky and pick up fabric dust from my clothes.I don't think I will ever buy Coach again.

I have been a Coach fan since childhood. I have purchased new bags from both the factory and regular stores. I have recently embarked on collecting vintage Coach purses because the new ones cannot hold a candle to the old for everyday use. I will never buy another fabric Coach for myself. The one sitting in my closet has totally put me off that venture. As for the leather ones, imho, they have to be put on a light rotation cycle and babied the few days I decide to use them.

I feel many brands, including Coach, are charging the same prices as years ago or higher for mediocre to piss-poor quality. It is unacceptable in many cases. I don't think spending $300 or $400 on purse and having it come apart at the seams after 1 year is money well spent, especially when I take care of my purse. It makes me apprehensive of spending another penny.

A couple of things. it felt a little snobby saying that OP hangs out in LV and was here becUse of her mom'sbag. It just felt like a negative note to begin with.
I have been buying Coach bags for over 30 years. At times there have been quality issues, however, Coach has always stood behind their bags and has either exchanged or offered to fix the bag.
That's much better cs than I got when I went to the LV boutique to get a speedy that I wanted. I asked if they stood behind their bags and if there was a warranty and they flat out told me no. Although I bought the bag anyway, it's a little disconcerting that they don't adamantly stand behind their bags.
I also once bought a gucci and went to pick it up to take to work and the whole bottom fell out.
No one wants to spend any amount of money and have something fall apart but if it happens its nice to know that Coach stands behind their products.

I personally wouldn't spend my hard earned money on any fabric/canvas bags, even LV. The ones I have always fare worse than leather, whether it is the hardware, wear and tear, and the complete lack of support canvas has. I have a few Coach leather bags, both retail and outlet, and never had any quality issues from them whatsoever.
