Hello,
Usually I hang out in the LV forum but this question is regarding my moms coach bag. I don't know the style, but it has the signature cc fabric with a leather handle. It's about three years old. There are loose threads EVERYWHERE and the handle is coming loose. It hasn't been abused, so it's just normal wear and year. Coach isn't what it used to be. Does the store have a policy for returns? Do they stand behind their products? My friend went in with an old purse like this and they gave her a new one. Will they do this?

My moms last coach bag was leather and after a week, a little leather strip broke off of the handle. It was such a shame, it was a beautiful bag. This makes me think that it's no coincidence that her bag now is experiencing issues.

why dont you take it into coach and ask what they will do :) What someone says to be not abused and what is abused I think is more then a fine line but i'm sure a COACH store can help with this..

Really no different the issues that have been more then popping up with Lv bags.. Its sad all the way around.

If your mom lives near a coach store I would say take it in and explain the problems you're having with it. Coach usually stands by their product and wants to make their customers happy. Its worth a shot seeing what they say.

Well I think that it also depends on how often the purse is used, is it used everyday or only once or twice a mth....an everyday fabric bag used for three yrs would be expected to have some wearing issues. A bag that has only been used a dozen or so times in three hrs then not so much. I hope your mom can get a satisfactory resolution :)

YES YES YES! Coach always stands behind their products. If they cannot repair it, they will either give her a git card with the amount of the bag on it or a letter with a 40-60% off any new bag. Make sure your mom takes care of it she deserves something nice, I'm sure.

Today was the first time I went into a Coach store since the new legacy collection was released. I was so dissapointed in the quality of the everything! I was going to purchase the dragonfly key fob, but it felt so cheap. Same goes for the jewlery. Even the leather bags felt different. I guess I compare it to the 65th anniversery bags where the leather was so thick. I am glad I held on to a few of those bags because I don't think I will be buying more Coach for a while.

I do agree that Coach quality is not the same as before. I had to stop buying Coach purses. But today I saw one that I loved. The new Willis in British Tan color. The leather is so pretty.

Did you feel this way about every bag you picked up? The leather used varies from collection to collection. Poppy waxed leather is very different from the leather in Madison bags, and even that is different than the Legacy leather.

You may also want to look at the online selection, which is larger than what you'll find in the boutiques. Selections like the Station bag, the Willis (different than New Willis), or the Janices Legacy bag may be more along the lines of what you're looking for.

Did your mom take her bag in to Coach and get a new bag? I was going to say (before I noticed this is from November) that if she used the bag daily or a lot for those 3 years then you can pretty much expect it to have wear.:smile1:

I see this is an old original post but I had to chime in...perhaps the OP will see this...I bought a signature fabric factory coach bag approximately 2 - 3 yrs ago and wore it a decent amount for 1 yr. I too had fraying where the bag rubs against my side and was dissatisfied as I have 3 older signature bags from the full price retail store that look brand new. I never really purchased coach outlet bags before so I am wondering if the quality is just different or if fabric bags in general are not the best in terms of longevity (although, like I said, my old bags look NEW.) Anyway...Coach ended up offering me 40% off of a new retail bag. I ended up buying a leather bag and will likely stick with their leather bags as supposed to signature. On a side note, as you can see from my username, I love Michael Kors bags as well but I have to say, their 1 yr limited warranty on bags versus Coach's customer service will make me continue to choose coach. If I am investing a couple hundred dollars in a bag, I want to know that the company will stand behind the product or I could just get a random bag anywhere that will last 1 year, you know? Just my 2...or maybe few cents lol. Hope it worked out for you!

She has had the bag for about three years and rotates her bags, so it was worn minimally. The inside lining isn't even stained or worn. IMO stitching should not be coming loose after two years. She brought it to Coach and they sent it in for repair. They were going to charge her $20 but she refused to pay it, so they sent it for free. I'm anxious to see how they repaired it! She vowed to never buy another Coach product again. Lol.

I'd like to know what other brands will take a bag for repair after 3 years. I took one in that is 30 years old!
