It is cotton, not silk. We have not tried with cotton, yet but who knows.
From the center, roughly two, unless you are willing to allow the blue part to show on one corner of headband. Sorry, it is not bigh enough. Seems worth the shot, because it is still cheap.

Hey, now I can see that other red one Txcollegegirl! Very cute. I'm not sure how we should move forward with only 3 girls. I really like that one, so I'd be willing to pay 1/3 of the scarf cost - but there would still be extra scarf. Hmmmmmmm....
