I'm sorry you believe your company or selling ID was negatively impacted but the fact is that the bag was correctly identified as fake.
Whether it was you or Mercari who listed the item, I don't know nor is it relevant. SOMEONE made a mistake and a fake was listed and correctly reported in order to save a buyer from unknowingly purchasing a fake.
I commend you for trying to verify authenticity of the bag and you didn't disclose what company you used. Or is it a company that Mercari uses for authentications? Whichever it is, this particular item wasn't inconclusive and if the authenticator knew Coach well enough, they'd have known it was fake. (I can't recall the exact problems with the bag but I do recall that the creed and serial number indicated a "close fake" but definitely fake.)
Here in the Coach subforum unlike some others, we are willing to help sellers who want to do their due diligence. We will verify authenticity (or not) if you post pictures. Forum rules disallow posting links to your own listings because it can be construed as advertising but you can tell us where you obtained the item, that you want to resell but need to verify that it's genuine.
You may also post the pictures of the red bag on the following thread to get other opinions on it.
Authenticate This COACH - **see first post for format**
IMPORTANT READ-ME Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please. For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread. Please follow the following requests: Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this...forum.purseblog.com
I'm sorry someone fooled you with a fake and I hope Mercari will refund whatever payment you made for the incorrect authentication.
ETA: You may also post pictures of the black bag for authentication.
I'm sorry you believe the bag was correctly identified as fake and you see that's NOT what Mercari said, they said it was inconclusive the same bags you have posted on here? So I'm not sure what other bag you are talking about.
They (MERCARI) posted the bag. We paid them ( Mercari)$15 for each bag we had authenticated with them, because that's what people do that want to be honest with buyers! How would us the sellers know what they was going to do. We never had a item come back inconclusive, so we wouldn't know what would happen next.
If we wasn't trying to be honest, why would we pay them to authenticated the bags from the jump? So you blame a customer that paid for a service and the service gets it wrong? That's like going to a known store and buying something you think is Authentic because they said it was.
We understand you would rather go with a lie then understand the truth about what really happened. You do know there are still people in the world that's honest and not just taking people hard earned money right? We understand want you are trying to do, but this was errors and never should have been posted.
We don't know what company Mercari
used that's why we're paying them because they are the experts And not us.
I will reach out to the administrator of this page soon. No worries we will fix this one way or another, because one thing we wouldn't never want, is our buyers to be scammed or sold a fake anything.
We allow our buyers to receive full refunds anyways on ANY items thats brought from us and their not 100% satisfied with their purchase. If your going to go on our Mercari page and try to find floss, then look at ALL the Satisfied customers I sell too. And do become a follower while your there!!! Thank you.
Have a wonderful night!
