I took it to the Coach store in MOA and they said it was a fake. A very good fake. Luckily the lady gave me my money back and I sent the purse back to her. I do not want others to fall for these scams.
On ebay when you open the auction there is a link that says "Report Item" under Other Item Info. That opens the reporting page and you can choose "counterfeits and copyright violations", then choose "potential trademark infringement" and then select "counterfeit handbags" . Then click on Continue and type "fake Coach handbag" in the reason section and then you send the report.
If you can give a specific reason why the bag or other item is fake, that helps it get removed faster - for instance, the C pattern on a regular Signature pattern bag isn't centered, C lining inside a C pattern bag, known fake serial number, that kind of thing.
And if someone's not experienced with Coach and isn't sure if something's really fake, or hasn't seen a certain style or pattern before, please ask at the Authenticate This Coach thread under Coach Shopping
before you report. Ebay claims that one reason they're not acting as fast on reports is because sellers have been complaining that
genuine bags are being reported and taken down. If someone's not ABSOLUTELY sure, ask someone here who knows.
And a reminder - just because someone hasn't seen a style before, or thinks a particular style is ugly, or because some bogus "authenticity guide" on the internet proclaims some kind of "Rule" that the item supposedly breaks, DOESN'T MEAN IT'S FAKE. DON'T report it until it's verified.
And don't depend on Coach employees to verify bags. No offense to anyone here who works for Coach, but employees are NOT trained in how to recognise fakes, except maybe for current styles where someone might bring in a fake and ask for a refund. Many Coach employees will say "fake" as soon as Ebay is mentioned, and probably less that 1 percent of them know anything at all about older bags. Coach is NOT a valid authenticating source except for their for their paid authenticators at Jacksonville.
