These fake Coach sellers on eBay are shameless! How do the "Power Sellers" get away with it? This wallet looks fake to me, no?

This look authentic.

The wallet in the auction and the other Coach wallets this seller has sold are fake. The seller uses private auctions which is a HUGE red flag, especially for sellers of wallets. The pictures show some things that shouldn't be there. Never buy Coach wallets from low feedback sellers who are selling many wallets and use private auctions.

There is a group of fake wallet sellers located in CA. All are sellers with low feedback (new IDs opened), all sell highly faked styles of Coach wallets, all use private auctions, and all are located in California. Any time you see a auction that fits this description, hit the BACK button.

Thanks for the heads up. :smile1: Alas my knowledge of wallets isn't as good as bags.

I've been on eBay, primarily as a buyer, for year now, but I've never encountered a "private auction." What, exactly, is a private auction? How can you tell?

In private auctions, the identities of bidders are hidden and you can't see the links to the auctions in the seller's feedback.

For example, here is an example of a private auction. In the bidders list, it says "private listing - bidders' identities protected":
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=170437925148

And in the seller's feedback you are unable to view the links to the auctions, instead it says "Private":
http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...sspagename=VIP:feedback&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller

Since ebay now obscures bidders' IDs anyway, there really isn't a reason for sellers to use private auctions. Whenever I see sellers using private auctions, I wonder just what it is they're trying to hide. Private auctions make it easier to shill bidding to occur and you can't check the seller's previous sales in feedback.
