I need some TPF opinions!

I just bought the patent leather Chocolate Dipped Strawberry Charm 92832 B4 MC for $30 shipped (NWT) that was released in 2011 for $48.

It's really cute and I've hung it on my new green Coach Ergo 33. I like the way they look together but I'm worried that the red and green combo may be too "Christmasy" for mid-summer; what do you think?

I think the strawberry looks great on your bag! I have this exact same charm and I love it! I’m with you on the beautiful leather charms at fantastic price points from 10 or so years ago. I should have bought more, too!

I didn't think Christmas when looking at this. I get your concern though. I do try to avoid red and green combo most of the year, but I honestly didn't think Christmas with the strawberry. Its a cute combo.
I get it, if you’re not feeling the combo then don’t wear it. The strawberry charm is versatile and will go great with lots of others bags without giving holiday vibes.
I think the vibrant green with the strawberry looks very summery because it's a berry. It looks very fun!
I love the look!

Thanks! I think I will keep the strawberry on the green Ergo for awhile and see how I feel about it, right now I like it!

I had so many opportunities to buy great fobs inexpensively, yikes! Often I would be standing in the checkout line at the Coach Outlet and I'd check out the rack of really cute leather and metal FP delete fobs - frequently priced around $15! Sometimes I would buy one but other times I would pass. Nowadays when I see the current prices (and some of the "just okay" fobs) I sure wish that I had gotten more of them!

Once I got into fobs, I always checked them out at the outlet and got a lot of cute ones. I've spent way too much tracking down fobs that came out before I was collecting. I love the cute leather fobs the best. I guess I should be happy they aren't making as many cute ones as I already have too many and the prices on the newer ones are much higher.

I don’t think so. Strawberries are very summer imho.

Awesome score btw! Coach’s charms have been so uninspired lately, I wish they’d make cute ones again. I especially like the idea of adding a fun charm to the clean, streamlined designs in the Coach Originals collection.
Thanks! I love the new Ergo 33 but I immediately recognized that I shouldn't wear red with it unless it's December! Maybe I'll try a few other fobs with it.

I’ve taken the choc dipped strawberry charm off of my green Ergo 33. I hadn’t said anything to my husband about my color-combo concerns but as I was getting ready to leave the house he said “wow, you look ready for Christmas!”! He meant it in a nice way but I didn’t appreciate the comment!

I replaced it with my 3D Teddy Bear F87166 GLD and I think it’s a good size and choice for this bag.

Great choice! He’s a cute little friend :)

Unrelated but have you sprayed your bag down with protectant? I have the exact same one and it’s my first glovetanned bag, I’m scared because I’ve always used pebbled leather. Also the SA told me that since the Ergo is new and shiny I shouldn’t spray anything on it now, which I find weird tbh.

Thanks! I haven’t sprayed this bag yet but I have sprayed many bags made of a variety of materials, including smooth glove-tanned leather, with Apple Rain Garde protectant spray and it’s never been a problem.

I've always loved Ergo bags, they are so lightweight, clean, and classic but sometimes it's challenging to find a place to hang a charm or just to deal with the hangtag on an Ergo - because there is very little hardware and no place to hang “purse jewelry” (as my husband calls my bag bling!)

One of the things that I like about my new Ergo 33 Shoulder Bag is that they’ve attached a leather loop and small metal ring on the side on the bag. It’s hidden under the end of the strap but it works well for displaying the hangtag and any additional ornaments that I want to attach, see pic below.

Has anyone tried cleaning the patent leather fobs? I recently bought one on Mercari and I notice the edges as well as the stitching is kinda dirty. I could just leave it as is, it’s not that big of a deal, but if there’s a simple way to have it looking new it would love to know!

Dishwashing liquid and a toothbrush. The toothbrush will help get the seams clean and get all in the cracks and crevices. Windex also works cleaning the leather, but not so much the seams. Looking at it, I think soap, water and toothbrush is best. Pat to dry excess water, then hang up and allow to fully dry.

My nerdy owl’s girlfriend just came in today so I thought I’d post a little update on my slowly growing collection

Was also wondering what you guys use to put them on your bags? I was using the little beaded thing that holds hang tags but I just recently lost a hang tag (the same day I had my nerdy owl hooked on.. so I was sad but also so happy it wasn’t the owl :sweatdrop:) so I’m not sure I trust those too much to hold onto my fobs. I wish they came with those dog leash clips like the newer charms do.

I use round spring gate clips mostly. I've tried adding dogleash clips to some but I don't like the way they make the charms stick out weirdly.

Like these: https://www.amazon.com/Spring-Carabiner-Trigger-Keyring-Buckle/dp/B07C51LTW3

These are the first that came up in a search. There might be some sellers on ebay that will sell a mixed set of gold and silver, although right now it looks like you only need silver. You can use binder clips too but they might not be as secure.

ETA: That pink owl is one the first fobs I bought. I got it when it first came out in 2011.
