Huh. Good question. I did mention this to my SA regarding some other bags and she said that bags with lots of detail were made one sided so that carrying them wouldn't ultimately damage the detail on the bag. Could have been horse crap, but it did make a little sense.
Right? I was surprised - it was too big. Thought I would love it, but it was not right sized for my frame.
On the one hand, it does seem like a cost-cutting measure, but on the other hand, it does make some sense. I was thinking that you could get two different looks by carrying it with the backside out sometimes. I have a few bags that are part haircalf. One of the reasons I picked the ones I have is that the haircalf is only on the sides and front so I don't have to worry about the haircalf wearing off by rubbing against my body.
That's a shame. I think they look like something that would be cute if they were small bags.
I love this bag but haven't seen it irl and I don't like the price. I might try the plain leather version first in oxblood.
I am not sure. I think it is actually more of a white white, but I loved the contrast of the whipstitching with the white.
I am looking at the oxblood as well, but I don't want two of the same style. Too many lovely bags coming out!! 😝
