Coach Employee Discount

usually discount is disclosed in the interview, but corporations generally frown upon telling people what you get in fear that people will ask you to use it for them (i've worked in quite a few different stores). when i worked at aldo we got 50% off full price items but could only buy a specified dollar amount per year with our discount. while at american eagle we got 40% off (and 50%'s each floor set) an unlimited amount (i was a bad employee there and let my roommate use my discount, but never shared my aldo one cuz it was a limited amount).

ok im bad. my little sister use to let me use her target discount 10% off woohoo lol
man i love aldo, now i want to work there to 50%

I used to work for COACH, so I'll give it up. I don't care! LOL.
Its 50% discount on full priced items in the store. You get the "deletes" which are things being sent to the outlet for 65% off. At the outlet you get the same, which is the 65% off original price.
The discount is pretty good, but the working conditions aren't the greatest. SO many rules, and then the one that I worked at always had us "on call" instead of just scheduling you for the evening, you'd have to call in 2 hours prior to your shift to see if you had to work that night.
The dress code, year round is black sweaters, black or khaki pants, and a white collared shirt. Did I mention BLACK SWEATER in the summer? Yeah. Seemed pretty stupid to us too.
OMG!! really a black sweater in summer, no wonder u quit lol.
thanks so much for the info..
:woohoo:

my little sister works at abercrombie...i use her discount ALL the time (30%...even on gift cards!). i spent way too much at aldo (the stock boy would even buy my items on his discount-in exchange for my sis buying him gift cards to a&f on her discount- because i'd use all of mine up well before the end of the year)

I've considered working at the local outlet, but it's not the clothing that I mind....

It's all my piercings on my ears I'd have to remove... and pretty much 100% out depending on how many shifts I would want to work (sorry I'm not removing 9 earrings every day to have only one set in each ear!). I've really thought about it, the local crews are awesome, but I think this is something I'm best just staying a customer in... no matter how nice the discount is. After all, I still get to interact with them, they teach me some things, and I teach them some things :)
It works out that way!

I know someone who works for Coach and they seem to get like 20 bags a year or so. Last year in November she was saying she still had like 15 bags she could buy and was offering her discount to family. Apparently they are allowed to share their discount with family.

Bunny, they'd make you take out all of your earrings? Really?

aldo had that rule too...and no facial piercings. i have my nose pierced and got away with keeping it in because there was an indian girl who worked with us and she got to keep hers (the manager didn't want to tell her to take it out in case it was a religious thing...so she let me keep mine too).

I got one of the employment sheets just for grinz to show the BH :)

I have 3 piercings in my lower ear lobes, 2 in each upper lobe, and one in the tragus on one side.

They only allow 1 pair of earrings (one in each ear), one set rings (so not tons of rings or anything).. and that's for men too.

I dont' mind the dress code... tho I have to say I have/own no black vests or sweaters of any type :)

We weren't allowed to wear khakis... had to be black or gray solid colored pants. White button up, collared shirt under pretty much everything and yes, black "seasonal weight" sweaters. French manicure, natural or red nails only... black shoes or coach shoes. Could wear black or gray skirts and of course pantyhose. I forget what else... natural makeup, only tiny non-flashy jewelry, etc.

Agree with the discount mentioned here though and I worked at the outlet only.

i really don't understand the big secret on their discount..... this gets asked a lot... there are serveral coach SA's on here... yet we can never get a straight answer..... ugh......

i asked one of the managers at my boutique cause one os the SA's was buying a bangle with her paycheck. It's 65 friggin percent. Holy crap. I'd be so broke. Even if I only worked there a few hours a week....ugh. I would seriously consider it if I wasn't so lazy though.

Weird, but true story here. I happen to know for a fact that Coach employees (maybe not all employees) get half off. When i was in FT Myers in Mid Feb 2009 taking care of my Dad after his surgery, i went to full price store on Saturday Feb 21. Anyway, i didnt look at my receipt when i left with my bag and i got a Coach employee receipt mixed in with my actual receipt too. Dont ask me how that happened. I will never know.

This Coach employee bought her bag a day before mine was bought for full price at boutique. Weird. It did say employee discount 50% on the bag she bought. By the way, she bought a heritage stripe something that was reg priced at 428.00.

Oh, yeah, totally right. Not Khaki's, grey or black. Your right. I forgot about all the other silly stuff.
The scarf that they gave you to wear. Yes, seasonal black sweater, natural makeup, natural hair color, pink, red or natural nails.
No hose required if it was 85 or more degrees outside.
Crazy! I was cleaning the other day & found my magnetic COACH nametag. LOL.

Wow! :wtf: BunnyMasseuse, how do you sleep at night with all those studdly studs poking about? I have 4 piercings (2 on each lobe) and I have a little trouble getting comfy at night with them poking the sides of my head. I refuse to get rid of them because if I forget, they will eventually close up and I don't wanna re-pierce those holes. :push:

Coach only allows one pair of earrings--one for each ear? Thank goodness my job allows me to have two on each side without any grumbling. Wow, they're strict! Ha ha, if they say no tats either--I got my eyelids done!

I only have the tat on my back thank goodness, so that's easily hid.

The earrings I wear are hoops mostly, and none are 'pointy' backed so they don't hurt my skin behind it. I used to wear the thicker gauge stuff, but figured I'd probably be best keeping my pierced holes small, as over time they will stretch. I don't wear anything really outrageous in them, so the amount of them is normally not easily recognized.
