Was finally able to hunt down an Empire 26 in Maple.

I will say that I do think the smaller Empires - 26, 28, and 35 - could have had zippers like the bigger ones, especially the 35, but the smaller ones are made from different leather that the bigger ones so maybe that affected their design. Also, I do think the price could have been shifted. 26 - $395, 28 - $450, and 35 - $550 or $595, but what do I know about pricing if the the items are selling.

I was curious how people were liking the smaller versions. I was initially tempted by the 35 but the 26 is really cute and maple is such a gorgeous color 🍁

I really like it. It fits the essentials and it's lightweight. Even though it's open, the way it leans into your body when it's worn crossbody and the flaps in the front and the back give the illusion that there's some type of closure. I would have preferred the 28, but the price, weight, and depth of the 28 made me go for the 26 instead.

I bought the maple in the 40 and thst golor h it s beautiful. Congrats on finding this. I’d have bought one if it had a zipper but sadly that’s a deal breaker for me . Beautiful bag tho.

It sounds like you ended up with the perfect size for you!! The Maple color is perfection 🥰
I ended up going with the size 40 in but I’m a big bag girl. The smaller ones really are a sturdy looking bag though and I would love to see one in person.
