Be careful when ordering from Amazon. Their packaging is inconsistent. You might get lucky and get an employee who will pack this $700 bag with care... or one who doesn't give a ___!

Last time I ordered an expensive bag from them, they threw it in a mailer bag and the tissue paper melted right into the leather. And what's more, the leather was also torn with a big gaping hole on it. Be careful!
Ugh! That is really awful, thanks for the warning. I will prepare myself for worst case lol. My expectations are not high with this, but we’ll see.

Also, it's been my experience that the Coach items ordered from Amazon are actually coming from Coach. If you end up returning an item, expect your refund to take a significantly long period of time, like a month. I'm not sure why, but I guess Amazon has to go through Coach to get the credit applied back to your account. It's the only downside though. Amazon has more frequently had some of the new releases even prior to Coach. I hope you get a good bag!

Gotcha. Yeah don’t like that either. But in all honesty even if it’s not burnished I may keep it, because the honey is beautiful either way!

Update – Dillard’s had a couple of Merlot‘s in stock last week and I placed an order online thinking it will be canceled. Luckily it was not and my bag was delivered yesterday. I’m comparing the Merlot to the Honey and I think I’m gonna keep the Merlot and return the Honey back to Coach. Just wanted to insert some pictures here because my honey does have a little bit of burnishing. It’s beautiful and I would keep both bags but I don’t have a need for two.

Also, I noticed grain lines on the Merlot in the back. I think that’s the normal wear of the leather. Pic inserted. Let me know if anybody has thoughts on that.

Yep, that’s normal striations in the cowhide. I like it. Enjoy your beautiful, new 40!

I'd been pining for the honey but didn't take the plunge when it became available. I'm only 5'3" and find the size of my merlot feels like a work bag. I haven't been able to pull it off as a handbag without looking like I'm heading out straight from the office. I'm thinking a 35 will be a good fit for an everyday bag. Anyone know what other colors the 35 may come out in? There's black in stock online and while I would really love the honey, I wouldn't rule out other colors.

Have you tried on the 35 in person? The website is showing the dimensions of the 35 as longer and wider by almost an inch!

Here’s another photo that a think is pretty true to how the color looks - this bag reads less golden and more brown/tan than some of the photos I’ve seen.View attachment 6099485
Yours is beautiful, I think I need to get one! I saw on reddit that one person sent theirs to a leathersmith to have it burnished to look like the runway version and it looks really good!
