I was at Heartland (in Mississauga) yesterday and saw the Soho Small Flap Hobo for $149.99, Pebbled Leather Chelsea Flap for $169.99. Legacy Shoulder bag for $219.99.

I'll probably pass by the Winston Churchill & Dundas (Oakville) location tomorrow to check out what they have there and maybe the Airport Rd (Brampton) location as well.

Does anyone know if Winners will do a layaway for you over the phone? ie. if I call them up and ask them to put one or two Coach handbags on hold for me until a certain time, will they do it? My friend will be going back home to Malaysia next month and want to buy a few Coach handbags for her relatives as gifts.

Any updates on locations in Scarborough, Markham or Toronto? TIA!!!

Thanks for the reply. I can't believe Winners don't do layaways anymore. Are there any "tricks" to finding which store has Coach inventory? Which stores in the Toronto GTA areas would have the highest chance based on the past? Has anyone tried calling the stores and asking the employees? Wonder how willing they are to go on the floor and find out if there are actual Coach bags.

Thanks again!

Winners does not layaways anymore. They can only hold items until closing (of the store) the next day.

Honestly I find calling and asking will wind up with little info as most SAs there are clueless. I would say downtown ones are the best bet, like College Park.

I've been to the main ones: King & Spadina, College Park, Bloor Street (Yorkville), and on Church & Front. I am not really happy with most of the Coach stuff there. I bought one bag at College Park and happen to communicate with a friend who was going to the outlet the following day and decided to tag along.

The bag at Winner's was $179.99 marked down from $368 (but it was a factory bag, eh?). I bought it and then went to the outlet and found the same bag for $179.99 and then marked down another 40% off that reduced the bag's price to $113 (after tax).

So, of course, I returned the Winner's bag. Later I discovered factory bags versus boutique bags.

Sorry to say I see Winner's as a place where "Coach factory store rejects" reside.

I am so glad that DimSum notified us about the second Yorkdale sale. I will probably never buy another purse at Winner's since I discovered Coach.

Take care,

Thanks for all your replies ladies. You are right T-Girl, with the Yorkdale sale going on, no one should need to go to Winners for Coach bags. After all, from the prices I gathered here, Winners don't usually go below 50% that much anyways....

:whiteflag:

Actually, I take some of those disparaging comments back about Winner's.

I bought 2 Bleecker Leather Compact wallets from the Yorkdale sale in June for $39 each (retail $207 each) and I really loved them. I had the Whiskey coloured and Wine coloured wallets. They're great and fit my most important credit cards and enough space for change and bills and yet it's so compact that it can fit inside the larger of the two pouches inside any Coach handbag.

That's so good that I wanted another. I went to the Cloverdale Mall Winner's after my dental appointment and walked through there and did a double take. I saw the signature khaki version Bleecker compact with bottled green leather for $79.99. Of course it's a lot more than what I got from the June sale but I really loved the khaki siggy print. I hummed and hawed over it and finally got it. I love the wallet and used it a few times.

Now that the Yorkdale sale is in full gear, ironically, it's probably over $100+ before tax at 50% off. So, I am happy with Winner's in that respect. I have 3 compact wallets and I'm happy and don't need anymore. :p

So, Winner's was good in that respect. I will still enjoy sifting through the bags there but I have completely lost all interest in their non-Coach bags and won't be buying anymore of them. As for Coach, well, if it's a good price and I love the style and if I have room left in my closet...why not?

Take care,

Oh I hear you T-Girl! I went to Winners yesterday and saw 2 Coach bags. The Soho slim duffle in black leather and ergo belted flap in tobacco. I passed up the two, both for $150 and $130 respectively. Then I saw a really really cute leather plum bag for $59.99 and actually debated about it and put it down lol. Now that my head is more clear I think I'll go back and see if it's still there. It really was truly cute.

Yeah, DimSum, Winner's is good for a few bags but make sure to check the creed. Some are factory bags and Winner's charges the same price range as they do for their non-factory Coach bags. If you don't care one way or the other, buy 'em. Also, make sure to check for the dust bags. I've noticed that some Coach bags had their dust bags swiped and that was disturbing.

Take care,

Oops I noticed my post wasn't clear. I meant I saw a $60 non-Coach bag and even thought it was cute and much cheaper than Coach I put it down because I seem to only look for Coach at Winners now. Everything else pales in comparison haha.

The legacy flap I bought doesn't have the bag, brush or care card! But it's so rare and was 60% off msrp. The Yorkdale sale had the tobacco ergo flap shoulder bag but I think it was still cheaper at Winners at $149.99. I bought it there and returned it, that was a non-bullet bag with care card and dust bag.

I agree that I only look for Coach bags when I go to Winner's too from now on. All the other bags there look like :hs:and that cures me from getting anymore bags that I many not use.

As for the $149.99 bag, that's a factory shoulder bag with the F (XXX-FXXX) after the dash in the creed. The boutique one has braided straps. Otherwise, the leather and lining are identical.

If you ever go to the outlet, you can get the same exact bag even cheaper and probably under $100 with much more selection to choose from.

Take care,
