And the Riley looks a lot like the LV Dauphine. Even down to the large logo hardware and the folded piece of leather.

I like the Riley top handle a lot more. It has the top handle and the chain is very pretty!

Apparently both bags came out in the 1970's; perhaps the most recent iteration of the Riley has recently been updated again for resemblance to the Dauphine.
The recent Coach Cassie crossbody has some strong Pochette Metis vibes, so I don't believe influence is out of the realm of possibility.
I actually prefer the Riley also. Maybe it’s the color combo on the LV bag, but there’s something about it I don’t like. I love the strap and handle on the Riley.
I’m also seriously considering the Cassie. I had a LV pochette Metis and sold it because I didn’t care for the Reverse monogram print. It was a nice functional bag, that could transition easily from day to night. Now I can buy the Cassie in a fun color, which if I bought LV I would have gotten it in black or another neutral color.

OMG, me too! I had been thinking I need a smaller crossbody bag for certain events, and this is fun and whimsical, and functional too.
Well, it seems like the universe doesn't want me to own a Riley. There are more new ones (previously posted from the HK site) that are now up on the Canada site, but all the ones I would consider buying have snakeskin trim or details.

Love love love the Cassie! I can’t wait for more colors to come out I’d love a solid tan or a dark brown also something dark purple too. I am not a big fan of color blocking I’d probably buy the pink if it was all the same color. Or even solid colors but a fun handle like the snake skin.
I have a feeling it will be successful since it's basically an affordable alternative to the pochette metis! So hopefully that means it'll be around for a few seasons in which they'll make more colors!
