The green is a cricket on a Chinese cabbage, the white is a snail on a snow pea and the purple is a ladybug on an eggplant. Actual jade so very beautiful colors!

I totally would fail an art class! My guess is all wrong.

Glad that they are using actual jade and have chosen great colors!

The bags are very cute when on display in that pouch shape, but I don’t like how that yellow one looks on. Doing the doughnut chain in jade is a great idea - the circles! - but it sounds like the execution is cheap. Dragons are one of the coolest mythical animals, so I don’t know how they ended up with one that looks like a slug.

I get the feeling that maybe LOEWE had other plans for CNY? Cause I find it suspicious that this is all they have done and it's not even on sale on the website- just certain select stores, and not even many.

What a shame - they could have had a lot of fun with Dragons.

I don’t understand why it’s so limited this year. I was planning on looking at the collection in person, but the New York flagship store isn’t getting any of the products lol

Yikes lol. I got really excited at the thought of the LNY capsule for this year when it was mentioned in the Suna Fujita thread…

I guess I should be happy my money is safe regardless of my persistent disappointment with this dang brand these past few collections. 😩

I am still hoping they have a second wave worth being excited over. Loewe definitely has the skills as the precedent to show that they’re more than capable at least.

Oh and also the flamencos actually do come with a jade ornament that's apparently really made from jade. Interestingly the Chinese have a good luck charm usually made from jade that's essentially the same as a link of the donut chains from Loewe, so honestly it's quite a match made in heaven (though not one made with resin):

Stored in a special pocket of these mini flamencos even:

I was hoping for the same! It would’ve been amazing to see the brand incorporate the Chinese dragon design in a few bag styles. I’m just imaging a hammock with a dragon’s head as part of the handle with the rest of the body done in marquetry. How cool would that have been?! Even LV is releasing a Speedy with a dragon detail and it looks nice.

Completely agree - have been disappointed all around with the Year of the Dragon releases. Seems like many brands aren't participating or are releasing a more limited line. I wonder why? As a dragon myself, I really thought it would be one they leant into - there's just so much potential!

oh wow! That's so nice! I wonder if they'll do anything for Men's... or the bigger question - will this be available outside of China?

So rather interestingly Loewe really aimed for the super cheap and the super luxe for this capsule collection. Exclusive to China, they have worked with artists and produced a limited number of actual jade pendants for sale (apparently upwards of 100,000 RMB each):

Looks like they're doing various gourd designs? The colors are beautiful if they are unadulterated.

If that's all real jade and unadulterated, the prices better be in the thousands and tens of thousands.
Colors of that nature, opaqueness, saturation, and brightness is quite rare if it is all natural.

I have not seen pricing for these pendants but given the supposed retail price is 100k rmb (or about 14k usd), I would think they would be using real jade.
