Can you tell me more about selling on FB? I see you're in Canada but SB similar here in US. Is there much buying and selling of bags? Did you join a local group that does all items? (not just fashion or bags)?
thanks
Local groups (selling all sorts of items as well as one ladies clothing one) combined with friends who are on Facebook (I gave them first access and told them to share the sale with friends). There were some bags being sold by others so I made sure I did good pictures that showed the inside and out and priced to sell, with a little wiggle room for negotiating. I did look up the names and what I paid for them as well, said that they came from smoke free home and that they were cared for and came with dust bags. So many people I think, sell theirs and ask too much for items that weren’t cared based on the name brand. Plus I wanted to convey that mine were genuine. So many people with knock offs due to some homebased business that was marketing them as designer. Keeping in mind my area really doesn’t know a lot about brands that would be looking on these sites. I sold primarily Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and one MBMJ.

I just read this thread and I love it. I sell my bags on eBay or consign them at the Real Real. Clothes I consign at my local consignment shop 5 min. from my house. The only things I donate are things the consignment shop wont take or I'll give those to friends who may want them. I always like to recoup some of my money back-I think it's worth my time. I cannot just give things away that I feel have some type of value and I don't have a sister to give things to. Sometimes I'll ask my mom if she wants them but her taste is different than mine.
I hear you. Getting back a bit of money helps and I have given some away, but yes in my circle most people I know don’t have the same taste (or aren’t into bags). My mom has two LV’s and that’s all she carries. She got rid of her plethera of Coach outlet totes and moved on herself.

I've recently gotten 6-7 bags and some shoes. It was the aftermath of clearing and downsizing my wardrobe in pursuit of using whatever I have currently. Yet I wasn't really happy with the result. They didn't spark joy anymore and those items were the 'leftovers' because they were the expensive mistakes so I had to stick with them and use them without much love. I reckon it was a failure and a miscalculation on my part. The decluttering process really needs will power to resist any temptation to shop and buy. I acknowledged that my method of keeping those that didn't spark joy anymore have backfired as I recently went a buying frenzy again! I need to impose another round of bag ban.
