Has anyone bought Lesportsac bags from ebay's "sewcrafty32"? She is a power seller and I am interested in her bags but a little skeptical.
I just bought a lesportsac bag from her recently and have asked experts here to authenticate it. I have a strong feeling that the bag she sold me is a fake. For one, the the standard lock and keys are missing and the logo is whiter than the original. I have raised this to the seller and she has not responded yet. The fact that she sent the $50 bag via registered mail costing about $7 at no cost to me is suspicious.

Hi,

I recently bought this LeSportSac Small Weekender Black Patent bag from:

http://www.ecrater.com/p/11486824/lesportsac-small-weekender-7384-black-patent#

The seller claims the bag is authentic but I am not 100% sure. For one, I realised the main zipper pull does not have a lock and keys. For weekenders, they would all come with a lock and keys, right?

Please help to authenticate and hopefully it's not bad news. Thanks!

lvlover I checked the official LeSportsac website and the description for the black patent small weekender bag does not mention anything about it coming with a lock/keys. However, you may want to call the LSS 800-number to verify this.

Personally, I purchased a small weekender from Macy's about two years ago and I don't believe it came with a lock or keys. The only LeSportsac bag I've purchased that came with a lock and keys was in the overnighter style.

The one in the USA lesportsac website is a bit different. It has silver hardware instead of plastic. I checked the Korean lesportsac website and the design there is similar to mine except that the logo is more gray and it has a lock and 2 keys:

Oh wow that's so interesting- I didn't realize the bag details are different on the USA and Korea websites. And I definitely see what you mean about the logo appearing more white than gray on sewcrafty32's listing. Maybe it was the flash from her camera?

I'm curious myself to see if her bags are authentic, because I have my eye on a few of the rose gold patent pieces she is selling that were impossible to find here in the US. All her listings never include the matching pouch for the bag, which tweaks my fake radar too.

Although she's a power seller on eBay, it's interesting that I've never come across a feedback from her buyers that mentioned the authenticity of the bag. Maybe these buyers were not sure themselves but happy to get a good replica for a fraction of the original's cost.

I took a chance with that bag and will regret it deeply if it really is fake. I looked under the zipper lining and noticed that the materials that are sewn to it are not cut that well. Is it even normal to see the edge of the materials? Know what I mean?

I own both the large and the extra weekender bags and they didn't come with the lock and keys. My mom has a weekender bag ... medium maybe ... and hers does have the lock and keys. We both got our bags at LSS sample sales. So yeah I'm not sure why LSS would put the keys on one size weekender but not all ... especially when you see that the zipper pull has a hole in it to place a lock.

Thanks all for your comments and insights. Appreciate your time to address my concerns although my bag is not a Tokidoki LSS. :smile1: I was hoping to put to rest the issue of whether the bag is fake or not. But clearly, it's not so straightforward given how different LSS bags can be from country to country. I do take comfort in the fact that aside from the 'missing' lock/keys, the other features of the bag are in order. :p

lvlover can you please post a picture of the rough lining that you are referring to? I don't have my small weekender anymore, but the zipper linings on my new everygirl tote are pretty straight.

Oh and my bad ... I was thinking about it and my mom's weekender didn't come with a lock. The lock mechanism was actually part of the the zipper pull ... like the zipper pull had a built in lock ... if that makes any sense and so the bag came with 2 keys to lock it. If I still lived at home I'd take a pic ... haha

i think the lock only come with the Extra Large Weekender. I have a medium and large one and they both have no lock. saw the small one in the store and i don't recall seeing a lock on it either.

I'm looking at the pics from my phone right now but from what I can see, it's real but there is no way that I think $350 is a reasonable/good price for a Ciao especially since the outside has no print ...

Okay so looked at the pics from my computer. Definitely real and in looks to be in excellent shape but again IMHO $350 is too much for a bag where the print is on the inside. Since it's BIN or Best Offer, if you want it ... it may be best to make a lower offer. Good luck with whatever you decide.
