I am an idiot. Bought a vca turquoise pendant on eBay as a treat to myself. I don’t need anyone to look at markings but did vca ever make pendants with a smooth edge? This is supposedly from 2007 and to me screams fake and I’m asking seller to refund almost 6k I paid. I’m within eBay return and PayPal protection. I also believe this was not the item in listing but the listing has been removed. All fishy to me.

Is there any serial number? Older pieces had a smooth edge, new ones do not. Please post a serial and a good photo of the clasp. Close up of the chain would also help. This still could be authentic if this is a vintage piece. For example, look for a chrysoprase necklace on eBay - it has very similar look and feel to this pendant. My point is that VCA changed design a bit and this does not necessarily say that item is a fake.
Added: seller can't remove a listing once it's sold.
Thank you so much. I actually had a thought to look up the jade and coral pendants because I figured I could find some of those from the 2000s in listings. I found a Sotheby’s listing, mgsigned jewels, and brilliance jewels for coral and jade- I did end up finding one single pendant that exactly matched mine, smooth edges and all. My pendant has a serial number on the chain, this jade pendant did as well. I was just shocked to see the smooth edges and that the beading is not as crisp and raised as it is on the newer pieces. The seller was actually really kind, offered to let me return if I was uncomfortable and/or take to a store for polishing or chain lengthening to see what happened. I’m happy to post pics but will have to blur out some of the serial number.
