Hello and thanks so much for any help you can give me.

Bought a pair of Peretti earrings for my wife for her birthday and I can't find another pair of them other than a similar pair on a Spot Fake Tiffany uTube. Did I buy a pair of counterfeits? The price was great but over the years we've both bought many authentic items at great prices on ebay so that didn't concern me. My research (yes I should have done it first) brought up statements that Peretti never made open back bean earrings and these are open. I also know that there are many incorrect statements on guides and videos so I'm still not sure. Quality looks great to me but she won't wear them if they're counterfeit and I would never give them to her.

Thank you very much and hope that someone here will know the answer.

Item name Vintage Tiffany Sterling Silver Large Bean Shape Clip Earrings Designer Peretti

Could you post pics? The link doesn't bring up the listing. Thanks!

Thank you very much for responding to my post. The pictures in the listing are better than I'd take. If you plug in the listing number to ebay you'll get nothing as you did. You then go to the left column and hit "sold" or "completed": and the listing comes right up. Can you let me know if this works? I appreciate your time. The sale was April 12th so I'm closing in on my claim window. Otherwise I'll post pictures but if you can pull the listing as I just did it should come up.

These are not very good compared to the listing pictures if you can pull them. I just did.

The seller contacted me privately and we closed the deal on PayPal. I just got the necklace today and it doesn't look like the photos I was looking at prior. The auction post had been closed by the seller so I cannot compare. I have a bad feeling about thisView attachment 3351612View attachment 3351518

I'm not sure but I never had old clasps with the losange engraved, did anyone here? If it's fake this becomes dangerous for buyers as a lot is OK. I'd try to cancel or show it at VCA.

Now I'm even more concerned. They are well made and very clean. Supposed to be vintage. I did not question them until I saw a utube video saying Peretti never made open backs on these. If you know that is not true I think they're OK but wanted to check with the authenticators here. I'm sure they're old but I know counterfeits existed in the 70s. Not sure what to do.

I don't like the print style of "peretti" on this piece. Usually the signature looks like a script scrawl (cursive) or is a cleaner, more precisely engraved type face if not written in script. I'm also concerned about authenticity Bc I've never seen the word "sterling" engraved in any authentic Tiffany piece. You'll see the numeric for sterling silver (925) but never the word "sterling," and I've purchased a lot of Tiffany silver over the years (and most of that Elsa Peretti). Very questionable authenticity, I'm sorry to say.

Good luck!!

Also, these are teardrop, not the Peretti bean design.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news (above post). Maybe another Elsa Peretti owner here will disagree with my opinion, but I'm pretty sure those teardrop earrings are counterfeits.

Hello everyone! I am new to this thread but I've been lurking and admiring everyone's cartier love bracelets for a while now . I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to authenticate this ebay listing for me? The seller is from Japan and is highly rated. I've taken the pictures from the listing and posting it here. Thank you in advance for all the help!

Thsnk you. I am bummed but will wait to see if anyone else posts and will make a claim on Monday. Is it better to claim with PayPal or ebay?

I am sure that you are far more experienced with Peretti jewelry than I am and all of our other pieces are stamped 925 as you stated. I was obviously concerned and am grateful for this forum and all opinions. I realize that you did not say that they were definitely counterfeit but that there were several elements that you did not like. I don't know either so I went to a professional service based in the UK as I don't know if we can mention companies on this forum but I have always respected this company. I received the email today that the earrings are vintage and authentic. I am very happy to learn this and glad that I didn't jump on making a claim as I wasn't sure either but there is a utube that shows the earrings as counterfeit. I am glad to know that they are just old and were sold as vintage.

I hope that you all agree that it was important to post this.
