We'd like to ask all posting for authentication to please read the first two posts of this thread PRIOR to posting.

Please remember this is a volunteer thread and we cannot always guide each member as to what information is missing in order to process each request.

We ask that you please post in the required format with the necessary photos. We ask this of you not to make things difficult to obtain an authentication, but for the following reasons:

1. The format allows for any member to search the database prior to purchase to see if the bag/slg has been authenticated previously.
2. Searching for the serial # prior to posting or purchase will show if it is known counterfeit serial #.
3. Required pictures are needed to give an accurate assessment.
4. Format helps give the authenticator pertinent details.
5. Maintains consistency and allows us to maintain a searchable database available for all to search.

The number one reason authentication requests are skipped is because the format is not followed. The second reason is the request is missing necessary pictures to provide authentication.

Be an informed buyer. Ask the seller to provide the necessary pictures PRIOR to purchase or posting. This not only protects you as the buyer, but also provides you with the pictures necessary for authentication. You will also need the necessary photos for your reference upon receipt.

Authentications ARE NOT currently done on orphan images without a login shot nor from most social media sites. if the bag is in your POSSESSION, you need to include a LOGIN SHOT (the bag in front of your device while logged into your tPF account).

REQUIRED PICTURES:

1. Front, back, sides and bottom of bag
2. Up close, straight on picture of the Chanel and Made In Stamp
3. Up close, straight on picture of the serial number in the bag
4. The backplate of the turn lock
5. The front CC closure
6. Internal hardware (zipper pulls, snap, etc.)
7. Exterior hardware (male and female parts of a flap closure, rings on totes, decorative hardware, etc.)

PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR AN OPINION WHEN ALL REQUIRED PICTURES CANNOT BE PROVIDED. WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO GIVE AN INFORMED OPINION AND CAN ONLY DO SO WITH ALL RELEVANT PICTURES.

I am new to the purse forum but have really appreciated all the insight you have provided. I'm not too aware of the Chanel scene but have been dying over the So Black Chevron Jumbo from s/s 15 ever since I saw it!

The serial number is not provided by the seller. They only send the first two digits and block out the rest. Not sure if that is shady but I guess if I had a real bag I wouldn't want the serial number out there for the world to see either. I could be wrong though.

Hi preloved experts I got this baby on some website but there are not having any documents and in descritpion "there is rest of glue on the serial numer page". Im not sure what should I think about this, the quality is really good but my first question silver chain? And second there is no squere in big cc. Any opinion?

Picture of the serial nr. needs to be more up close and showing the full sticker. I also see that it's missing the CHANEL MADE IN stamp, so if you can request a shot of that, too.
Bag shows no issue so far, though.

I have recently bought a handbag on eBay without a receipt as it was my dream handbag. Would love to know if it's 100% genuine before the time is up to start a dispute which is pretty soon, if it turns out not to be genuine. Also, could anyone recommend me the best paid service I can use online to authenticate my handbag and have a certificate of authenticity through email or post? Thank you

I should note that the bag doesn't stand straight like my other black classic flap, it seems to lean forwards, and the inside popper is impossible to close as the cardboard is very floppy as opposed to my other Chanel classic flap which is much more solid.

As for the serial number, I'm having trouble getting a good picture without flash, what should I do? It's located in the bottom of the bag.

Try to take pictures outside in natural light. If you use a camera, put it in the macro mode.
If taking pictures with your phone, you can zoom in first and wait for it to focus before taking a shot.
I know it's hard to take quality pictures of the serial nr., but it can be done.

Hi all!

Long time lurker, first time poster. And I sort of hate that my first post is asking for help instead of contributing, BUT I would really love your help on authenticating a purse I purchased (hasn't arrived). I am no expert, but I don't see any red flags expect for that is 20 series (Worried about super fakes), wondering if the "made in France" looks blurry" or it is just a bit too puffy and too good to be true? A reissue at Nordstrom this weekend was actually puffier looking than this. Also, I do know that she gave the incorrect measurements, but that is pretty common on preloved sites I have found. Thank you in advance and hopefully I can attach photos correctly.
