It's good. This flap is pretty rare, that's why the shape of the front flap differs from what you normally see on classic flaps.
Should've also come with a little pouch/wallet, if not lost over the years.

Bless your heart! Thank you so, so much for your time and expertise. I was fretting all day thinking I had been so stupid not to notice how weird the flap was, since I don't recall ever seeing anything but the frowny type and considering I bought it for a song (the Japanese have a hilariously generous view on what is considered "damage" to these vintage bags) but even so it was that "too good to be true" mantra ringing in my head. The hand of the leather is the very definition of "butter", so I was amazed by the idea that anyone would put so much effort and care into such a convincing fake just to botch the flap design. I can sleep peacefully tonight!

By the by, would the rarity be a positive or negative to the valuation of the bag, all things being equal? I am wondering if that is why this bag was priced so low, with very minor wear in the usual places.

After reading your reply, I did request more clear pictures from the seller immediately, then she just told me that this boy bag had been dyed color . Since the original bag owner didn’t tell her about this, she will return this bag, won’t sell it anymore. Many thanks again.
