Cles key pouch vs key holder

I had both and sold my 6 key keeping my cles pochette. I had a different car FOB in both. We sold one car and I decided to sell a key pouch too. However when I did this I switched the FOBs. I put the one I had had in my 6 key in the cles pochette. Sold the 6 key and quickly realized that this did not work for me. Because the car/key FOB that had been in the 6 key (and was also the car we kept) had automatic start and I liked to use the FOB to open the trunk when approaching it.

With the 6 key I was able to use one hand to unbutton it and push buttons on the FOB. So if I was approaching the car carrying bags or pushing a buggy I was able to easily open the trunk or start it. But now with my cles pochette the FOB is zipped in. And I can’t do anything with one hand. I didn’t notice this prior because I carried a different FOB in the cles pochette that didn’t have all these auto functions. So I never realized how hard it was to use it with one hand.

this is such a big reply. I just really screwed up.

Like you, I was undecided as well - so I purchased both the 6 key holder and the key pouch at the same time. I've found that I greatly prefer the 6 key holder for my minimalist lifestyle.

The key pouch was essentially useless for me. I had it for about 2-3 years and only used it a handful of times. When I tried to use it as a wallet, my cash would constantly get stuck in the zipper and it would be a pain to sort through the keys to pick the intended one and then try to fit my keys back in. I also hated digging through the pouch to get my CC/debit cards. I even tried using the key pouch as a coin purse, a catch-all, an earbud holder, etc, but it all seemed too cumbersome and frankly, I thought it was ridiculous to have a $200 pouch being used to hold some coins. I could never find a use for it, so I recently gave it to my mom. *I'd like to mention that I also own the empreinte key pouch and I also prefer it over the cheaper key pouch because I can use it as a wallet, key holder, and coin holder. It is one of my favorite SLG's behind the 6 key holder.*

Meanwhile, my 6 key holder is hands-down one of the best purchases I've ever made (in life) and is my most used and most loved purchase! In the beginning, I did have issues with the button wearing quickly, but LV replaced it for free and it has been my daily driver ever since (the gold plated button is now silver, but I've gotten used to it). It is extremely convenient because I use it as a wallet and a key holder. I keep my driver's license, debit/credit cards, and cash in the back "pocket" while my important keys/loyalty key cards are on the keyrings. The 6 key rings make it so that all my keys are sorted in an easily accessible and neat fashion. I have a traditional remote car key that is a bit bulky, so it just hangs out the top of the key holder so that it is readily available.

The 6 key holder has simplified my life so much! All the things I need to run out the door are right there for me to grab and because of the bulk/size, I rarely misplace my keys anymore. It fits perfectly into my minimalist lifestyle because I no longer have to carry a wallet and I can more easily fit what I need into my "nano bags" (I prefer to carry smaller handbags). I believe that the 6 key holder is the most "bang for your buck" piece that LV sells and due to the convenience and ease of use, I highly recommend it!

Keyless cars should be able to detect that the fob is in range and then there is usually a little button on the door handle you can press to open (or maybe the newer cars just unlock automatically once you're in range, I'm not sure). Does your car have something like that? Several of my friends have keyless entry cars and never have to take the key out of their pocket.

Depends on your car.

I own Bmws. My x5 has keyless and convenience entry. I walked to my car and put my hand near the handle. It unlocks. I get in car press button and drive off. I never have to take the 6 ring key holder out.

My 5 series is much older (2002) and has keyless entry and a key. I use the cles for that. I unzip the cles, hit the unlock in the key and open the door. The cles hangs from my ignition.

cles is great for concerts and and sporting events. Holds cash, key and cards.

6 ring is better for my day to day with the x5. Hold the fab and my keys. Card and I always have cash in it.... which I always forget about!

I only have to touch my door handle and it will unlock if my key is in my bag or pocket. I also have the garage door opener in my car, so no need to use a house key. But even on top of that, our side door is a key pad, so even if I were in someone else's car, I still don't need a house key. I love it.

Ok so my husband just checked and we don’t have it. I googled and it seems that BMW X3 is notorious for not having keyless entry. Oh well, have to keep getting the key holder out lol.

My Lexus has the foot movement thing to open the trunk of my car! I still don't need a key for that, even groceries with both hands full. Cars and tech change so fast.

I have the key pouch in mono and de. My car fob is in it inside my bag and it never comes out due to keyless entry and I come in through the garage so no key needed. The other can be used for lipsticks (2 fits perfectly) or coins/cards etc. I don't like the look of the 6 key holder bulging out with keys these days being oversized.

I much prefer the cles but I walk to work so don't have car keys to worry about. With the cles I can carry my id, cards inside with no drama - it's just grab and go. I have a beaten up vernis cles in rose pop. Really want a new one but no colours grab me at the moment.

Rose pop is so pretty! I’m waiting for more colors too.

Key pouch all the way for me. I use it as a card holder and put my house keys + car fobs for both of my cars. I never have to carry a wallet or bag around (especially in the cold Canadian weather with bulky jackets). Just have everything in your one ring and you're ready to go!

I’m confused! Those who say they have keyless car so never take the key holder out their bag, how do you unlock your car? I have keyless but still need to open the key holder to unlock and lock the car. Am I missing a trick here? :confused1:

My Range Rover is a little older and has a fob buy I have to take it out and press the button but my BMW is newer and as long as the fob is in the vicinity, it basically sends a signal to the handle and once you just touch the handle it unlocks. I think a lot of the newer cars come with true keyless vs the original keyless.

I never had a 6 (or even a 4) ring key holder, but I have two key pouches and I CAN'T RAVE ENOUGH about them.
The key pouch is my main wallet. I've used mine every single day since I bought the first one. I carry a bunch of cards and my house keys in mine. I also carry another small extra wallet with me, where I store coins, a few other cards and my driver's license, because I prefer it that way, but the key pouch is soooo easy and convenient to use. Sometimes I leave for lunch or to run quick errands and I just take my phone and the key pouch with me. So incredibly handy and practical!

Not a fan of the Cles. I had both of these, but I sold my cles many years ago and got a second key holder instead. One I use for house keys and the other for my car key. It was the long chain that annoyed me. I didn’t like having my keys dangling around, and I didn’t like fighting it when it was tucked inside trying to get coins or cards out.

I have both, I used to love the canvas keypouch. But I do not find them that convenient with the size.

The 6 Key holder is great in empriente leather. I want to get one in classic Monogram canvas. But my mind is telling me to wait and see if LV could offer more color option with the 6 key holder in empriente. Because I LOVE that variation the most.
