Classic flap small vs. Medium

Hello! So I bought my first classic flap today.. in caviar leather with silver hardware. I bought the small (I do tend to like smaller bags) and I am 5’4” petite/curvy body. But I think I’m regretting my decision… I think I want to exchange for a medium but I want to hear your thoughts…
The only reason I might stick with the small is because I have the small Chanel 19 also in black which has a gold CC clasp.. and mixed metal strap. The size of the small for the Chanel 19 is basically the same size as the medium classic flap.. and I feel like these will look too similar if I exchange now for the medium classic flap.
I dress very casual (leggings/runners/gym clothes usually since I’m a mom of two and like to be comfy) so that’s why I chose the silver hardware in the classic since I feel like it is more casual and I do not get dressed up very often. And already have a lot of nice evening bags.
I fell in love with a darker blue that was a seasonal colour, and also a light grey. (I 10000% would have chose the light grey but I’m worried about stains) I also would have picked the blue since I already have way to many black bags. But for this price point I feel like it has to be black ! -I want to love it forever….

I have both small and medium sizes and I can say my favorite is medium. I'm just like you I love small bags but for some reason I like the medium better. It looks better when worn as short shoulder bag, I feel the small kinda gets lost under the arm. Maybe it is just me but that is how I feel. The medium for me is the perfect goldilocks bag in the classic flap sizes. Also the size of small is only a little bigger than the mini rectangular.
I would suggest you go back to the store and try both sizes again.

Thank you for the advice !! I feel like the classic flap is perfect in the medium size.. and when I tried it on in the store those were my exact thoughts too! I think the medium looked better when I wore it as a shorter shoulder bag… but then the small looked better as a crossbody bag. So it was tough… and the price difference is only $600. I 100% want the silver hardware since I’ve heard that the gold hardware will fade over time. Which really sucks !
& you are so right about the classic flap & Chanel 19….. I guess the sizing doesn’t matter as they’re two completely different bags.
Do you regret buying your classic flap in black ?
In my store location they only had black, blue, pink, light grey & yellow. I only liked (well loveeddd) the light grey (medium) …but I have two small kids and I feel like that’s just a recipe for disaster lol & blue (small) and of course the blacks which they had in both sizes, leather and hardware surprisingly!
When it comes to such a high price point bag I become so indecisive!!! I don’t think I’ll ever really know which one to pick. But I will go back to the store and re try them on again.
it seems like you are more leaning towards black. I would say go for it! I have the black in both ghw & shw and I although I love the gold I sometimes find it too dressy so I use the silver more, (well back in the day anyway). I have not been using my classic flaps as of late.

What size do you have in the silver hardware?
If you're regretting it, try on medium and decide. I am 5 ft and I couldn't get the medium to work on me. I was looking for something more "cute" and prefer the more square look of the small. You're taller than me, so medium would work. It's so crazy the medium is only an inch longer or so, but brings a different vibe on different people.
I have a small cf just because I don't carry anything and I'm very small. My mother in law is also small but she has a medium cf and it does not look big on her at all. You are 5'4 so I'm sure it looks good. Even though I have small size I like medium size actually. It's a good size and practical I think.
I have a small and medium and prefer my small, although I pretty much only use them to go out to dinner.
I think they’re both a bit awkward as far as not working crossbody for me- I’m about 5’ 6.5” with a long torso although I’m not very curvy. I prefer larger totes or crossbody bags during the day that have easy open flaps. The compartment for the medium doesn’t feel much roomier than the compartment for the small on the classic flap to me. I like smaller bags for nights out or dinners and that’s when I most often use my classic flaps, so for me the small size wins. I also rarely use either doubled up on my shoulder- neither look great on me that way. I prefer the long chain and single shoulder look but with the small I think doubling the chain and holding it from a hanging hand looks okay as well, whereas with the medium it seems a bit too big.
If you can wear the medium crossbody, then I think that changes the game!
The beige is my medium and black is my small. I do think the beige goes better with this outfit. And the beige medium classic was my first Chanel so I may have been a little shy about it being slightly bigger. You can see how crossbody won’t work for me.
For reference- I have a longer torso and am almost 5’7”, about a US size 2-4.
