Where do you find your vintage Levis?

I recently gave up on my raw selvedge Naked and Famous pair...they just don't fit right especially since I've lost a few more pounds, so off to consignment they go. And bought a pair of Levis original fit 501s for 70% off! They are good and I'll get lots of wear from them - perfect medium wash, 100% cotton. But they still don't fit like the classic jeans I remember from my yesteryear that hugged every curve...they are loose in the waist, fitted in the bum, and then loose again in the thigh. Maybe it's just my body that has changed - sigh! I was also hunting for the "shrink-to-fit" style but could only see them in the men's versions - ? Well, they'll probably mold to me better after more wears.

These look great on you! I've recently lost about 10 lbs and have had to let go of my prior vintage Levi's as they're way too baggy in the butt, so I bought a few new ones on eBay one size down and they're perfect! I have both 501 and 505. I prefer the 505 due to the zipper closure.

These are cute! Vintage 501 men’s/women’s are totally different body shape.. but a good tailor can get you any fit you want! They are 100% cotton..won’t shrink any further than they have already.

Not quite the same fit
314 : front waist height 26 cm, , leg opening 19 cm
724 : 27 / 18 cm
I don't feel any difference in the waist height , but I find the slightly wider leg comfortable
Well.. I’ve never had a single pair that were “exact” from Levi's measurements. Always pretty varied by wash.. I don’t even think 2 pair of the same wash/same size will fit exactly the same. Levi’s is random that way
ETA a few pics for reference

At least you don't have to choose which one to wear
And you can wear it until it falls apart and then you don't have to search forever for an authentic used wash ...
my oldest jeans which I've had for a Long time - like maybe 20 years - are J Brand. They aren't making them anymore. I just noticed one of knees is wearing through. I tried buying another pair on Mercari but the rise is too low. there is a pair on Poshmark that looks to have the same measurements but it's a different wash. I hate to buy something and have it not fit. If I tried the Levis 714 and they didn't fit I could return them pretty easily. With the ones from Poshmark I wouldn't be able to return them but they would cost less.

I understand this is a "classic" jeans thread, but what do the denim aficionados here think about the balloon/horseshoe trend? I've been resisting it up until now because I thought it was just a flash in the pan, but now it's been going on a couple of years with no sign of slowing. Some versions I've seen really look great! As long as they're not overly exaggerated, they can look like just a nice "roomy-in-the-leg" style. I always love good baggy and wide-leg options in my denim collection along with classic straight leg.

On the note of styles and trends, do we think skinny jeans are coming back?
