Hello everyone! I’m looking for a designer brand that sells a pair of non-ripped, comfortable, has no logos or very discrete ones, high-waisted, and skinny/slim fit jeans. This could be a brand that sells many types of clothes or specializes in jeans. I like very timeless pieces from brands that aren’t very trendy. I know the type of jeans I’m looking for just went out of style, but for me it’s a classic. I feel like there are so many new jean brands that take the spotlight for a bit and then another one replaces it. I’m looking for a brand that will last decades and become a staple for jeans. A brand that makes very high-quality jeans that can last forever. A brand that doesn’t become super trendy and then becomes irrelevant. A brand that is more luxurious. I need lots of help since I’m looking at brands and there’s so many like Frame, Brunello Cucinelli, Saint Laurent, Khaite, Citizens of Humanity, Mother, J Brand, 7 For All Mankind…etc. I’m just incredibly lost and I’m sure that the fashion experts here can help me out. Thank you! :)

Loro Piana makes nice jeans that hold their shape
I prefer them to brunello these days

For a luxury big brand, I like high waisted chanel jeans.

For a budget brand, everlane used to be good

For a specialty denim boutique experience: blue and green
Japanese selvedge denim

I used to wear off the rack 3x1 (and DH wore custom) but I believe they went out of business. They were amazing,
And DH could choose denim from bolts; thread, yoke, style, etc. 3x1 would customize the yoke and fit for him

ETA: I have not worn brands like frame, j brand, mother, AG, citizens, 7, for many years, bc I prefer denim with minimal stretch. But, I used to wear something called habitual (slim, non stretch, waxed) which I believe is also a department store brand

I agree, jeans are a minefield. You will still need to find a shape and fit that looks the best on your body.

On the good side, I believe jeans-snobbery died out a long time ago, it's cooler to wear no-name or 'can't tell what they are' anyway. No high-street store that wants to actually sell jeans makes their logo standout.

I have had some Chloe and Roberto Cavalli jeans for a long time. They are as you would expect representative of the house style. Chloe, no-stretch, heavy, minimalist style but contrast stitching, and RC almost the opposite, heavy-duty, 'dirty-denim'-colour, flared, devoré (obviously not what your looking for). But if you go with designer, you will get that House's house-style so will transcend seasons. In my opinion, the prices that designer stores now charge for denim are not with it.

I admit, tried on some really cool Saint Laurent jeans a couple of years ago, but they were really long (I suppose to ear over Biancas or Jodies). Although the store offered to shorten them, it would have cut most of the flare (which was kind of the point of the design).

Why not 'regular' trad. jeans brands like Levis or Wrangler?

IMO Levis MIJ (Made in Japan) are very good

I've also had my Evisu for a long time (but they do have logos)

On the high-street Cos are unmarked and transcend seasons and years.

Hi everyone! I’m wondering what brands for jeans in your opinion will last decades and/or centuries. Whether they have already been around for that long, or they are a newer brand that you think has longevity.

Besides Levi's? I could go down a rabbit hole on talking jeans.... I love a 100% cotton pair. Those are the ones that last decades and can be washed and dried to consistently 'snap back' to shape. I went on a little bit of a Wrangler's kick for this reason - :heart:the discomfort of a tight, freshly washed pair of jeans = the original Spanx. :P But, in this vein, you might be looking for a raw denim pair.

I think @Antonia is a great resources for jeans and denim.
Thanks @lill_canele ! :flowers:

@fashionlover7 , for classic 5 pocket vintage you can't go wrong with Levi's, made in the USA....I prefer 505's to 501's because I don't really care for button fly jeans. The 505's and 501's are straight leg and never go out of style. The only thing you have to remember is that vintage jeans run way smaller than current Levi's. So if you are a size US8, you will probably have to buy 33's in men's or 10/12 in misses (or 11/13 in Jrs). Just be sure to check the measurements, never go by the size on the tag. I also agree with @Mollypop about 100% cotton jeans-the best!!

If you want to experiment with more trendy but quality jeans, Khaite is fabulous (try to buy on sale since they are pricey-so worth it)!! They are a heavier weight denim but so well made! As soon as you touch them, you will know what I mean. Another brand are B-Sides in Lasso-which I paid full price for but I'm obsessed....they bow out somewhat but are not too bowed out in the leg (which is the current trend). If you don't want to spend a lot, Zara makes some pretty good trendy jeans but the quality is not there.

I think also if you go to places like The Gap, Banana Republic, and J. Crew, you will find many classic style jeans that are decent quality!! Good luck!!

AG jeans are fantastic. I have many pairs, some which I have worn for almost 7 years and they are still great. Apparently the founder of AG - Adriano Goldschmied - was the creator of premium denim and is called the Godfather of denim. He founded diesel, Agolde, Gap 1969 and others and started making jeans in 1974.

My new favorite are Mother Jeans. I love their washes and styles but the sizing is all over the place. It is necessary to try them in person.

I LOVE jeans. I have jeans that are over 25 years old. At one time, LA was the center of designer jeans with Seven for all mankind and Citizens for Humanity being the height of designer jeans 30 years ago, and True Religion and Rock and Republic following shortly thereafter. The latter two flamed out and are completely PLAYED out here in LA, but Citizens is still very popular with kids today. Levis and its current redesign, ReDone, are still popular. Levi’s resale are strong. I personally LOVE AG jeans, but it is because I am close friends with management and always support people I adore. Plus AG jeans are deliciously comfortable. Right now, if I buy new jeans, I buy Mother, Paige or ReDone.

I've turned my nose up at Wrangler...maybe should be open to them

I also used to have custom (bespoke) jeans made by 3x1 recommended by @880 who were brilliant as nothing fitted me, I also prefer no stretch..

I also like 3sixteen+ from Self Edge, or the Japanese brands Momotaro , Samaurai etc etc..

My Samurai Geisha jeans have a button fly and are years old and still look new..

High street jeans are too big for me, as are most American sized jeans, including Levi’s.

I’ve had bespoke jeans by Roomten, Timothy Everest , Chittleborough and Morgan and Gieves and Hawkes, but all I have atm are my old Sammies and a pair of J Brands which actually fit-I probably could do with another pair but it’s very hard to find well fitting jeans(which I’d what this whole thread is about!)

I used to have a co-worker who was so tiny, she had to shop in the kids dept! I don't know your measurements but here are a boys 12 slim but measure 11" flat, so a 22 waist. It's time consuming to look but maybe you'll find your elusive Levi's one of these days!

No, Levi’s don’t fit me at all..kids are too short, womens have hips too wide(inc U.S Misses and Jnrs), rise too high, thigh too big..just don’t fit at All.

French 501s for women used to be cut very small when I lived in Paris, also there was another cut unique to France, but these were adapted to international sizing and are much bigger now..

Japanese denim is much better quality as they bought all of the original Levi’s looms, and can also trace the mill the denim is from..so I’ll stick with those for now..

I also prefer skinny slim fit jeans - skinny but not super skinny so they look like leggings. I think what flatters your figure is more important than what's currently in style.
