I have the Trop in brown and I adore it! I wear it all the time. Only thing that is bad is that yes, it does not have an inside pocket  Really ridiculous if you ask me, and especially for the price, but I seem to be functioning without it, although it's not the most ideal. The look and color of the bag make up for it though.

I love her bags - I have the foldovers in blush, navy, and grey woven leather, a grey woven tote, the Sac Bretelle in cognac suede (one of my favorite every day small bags EVER), and my husband and I also have a batch of iPad cases. I am in total agreement on the pocket issue. My only other real gripe would be that her store in LA has very rude salespeople.

Clare's business is still really small which is probably why the bags are hard to find outside the US.

No, I think they're pretty much the same. The lack of inner pockets doesn't bother me since I only own her clutches (well, 3 of them...) There's not much digging to be done in a clutch. It has stopped me from buying one of her bigger bags, though. In any case, I do love her clutches. I have the pebbled blue, leopard, and woven camel, and they are all gorgeous. Quality: fantastic. You just have to get past the lack of a lining and inner pockets.

I must say - she's my go-to for clutches. I have to stop myself from buying ones I don't think I'll honestly get enough use out of.

any update on these bags now that she's been out for a bit longer?

I highly recommend the CV small duffle--it's lined and has one little batch of interior pockets on one side--a zip pocket that has a divided patch pocket on the outside of it where you can put your phone or keys or ID.

With my CV bags, I've started using a LeSportSac pouch that I keep all my little stuff in. I actually am enjoying the lack of a lot of pockets because it's made changing bags a lot faster.

Clare Vivier's been posting teaser photos of her fall bags on Instagram and there's one that has an exterior pocket, so her fall bags might be addressing this problem!

Here's a pic of my navy messenger. After six months of use, one of the rivets fell apart, so I shipped it back to Clare Vivier, and they're repairing it. Can't wait to get it back! Other than that, it's held up really nice.

I now have the small Escale duffel that mjsmurf77 references, and it DOES have ok pockets on the inside. It's a great-looking bag for the price, although the shoulder strap is too long for petite girls, and the lining is fabric. Still, I think it's nearly as nice as the Givenchy or St Laurent duffels and will keep me away from the Sofia Coppola one for a while - it is 1/10 the price.
I wish CV would make a practical work bag that holds a laptop AND has pockets. She used to have something close to that in canvas but it's discontinued.

Have you seen this bag? I'm not sure if it's big enough to hold a laptop, but it has an exterior pocket and an interior pocket, as far as I can tell from the pictures:

I love the look of this bag, but I'm 5'2" and scared it would overwhelm my frame...and since it sounds like you're petite it might not work. It's hard to find functional bags that don't overwhelm when you're small!

I love that bag - how did I miss it in the Shopbop sale, especially when everything was an additional 25% off?!
I don't mind a big bag - my current go-to is a Foley & Corinna Mid City. I had never tried one before and there were bad noises on the forum, but it's SO useful, it's inexpensive enough that I don't mind beating it up by stuffing it, and it fits my laptop.

Are all the messenger bags made in the nubuck leather, I want to order want for my fall handbag but idk if all the colors are nubuck or just regular leather.

Yes, I've only seen messengers in nubuck, but they often come out with something new/variant, so it's hard to say that they'll never try something else.

I've been collecting CV since she came out with the first batch of La Trops in 2009. I have the La Trop in brown (both short and long handle), black, and white is on the way. All are in extremely good condition. I have pouches or Baggus inside and have never worried about theft (and have traveled with it). I also love some of her clutches, but would say it's much easier to purchase in person at a trunk show or at her LA store since the clutches all have different types of leather/durability. Some of the other items I have are no longer in their collection - I think it's because it didn't sell well or might have had some problems - there are quite a few styles that were updated.

My latest acquisitions were the gold clutch (looks much richer than the gold on her website) and the navy basketweave (very durable looking leather, but disappointed that the other colors don't have contrasting trim, which I love) from her LA store when I had a layover.

But some of my favorites would be the small messenger bags with a magnet in the flap that she collaborated with the new Europe-only H&M luxury brand, & other stories, earlier this year. My friend in London helped me out to get it in both yellow and black.

She's from MN but her husband is French, hence the French last name. Bodie and Fou carries them across the pond.

I absolutely love that bag!! Why would she not make that design available on her own site? I did see something similar on piperlime, but the strap does not look the same (I prefer the way it is on the yellow):
