Thank you!

It's important to let the leather rest a day or at least a few hours between treating with conditioner and not to use too much conditioner during each application - wipe off the excess.

When I have trouble getting bags to shine or if they have uneven coloration or stubborn scuff marks, I usually use Black Rock Leather N Rich; which can darken the leather a little but it often deepens and evens out the color (IMO). After using Black Rocks and letting it rest overnight, I buff the leather and then use a final coat of Leather CPR or Apple Conditioner. Again let it rest and then buff till it shines!

Thanks! I'll give it a try!

They all look beautiful! What great gifts! I can see all the time and effort you put into these bags and I'm sure everybody that received one was thrilled!!

Umm just one question, how do I get on your Christmas list next year? Just kidding! ;) LOL But seriously you did a wonderful job! Hope you and your family had a wonderful holiday! :)

Wonderful job as usual! Those bags really needed some TLC and they're lucky they found their way into your hands. They came out beautiful and I think they are more thoughtful gifts because of the time you put into each one. I'm sure everyone will be thrilled to recevie these as gifts-I know I would!

Everyone was lucky because you did a fabulous job as usual!

Thanks for all the kind words! I enjoy finding and rehabbing lovely bags but I admit that this time I thought that I might have gotten a bit too ambitious as I was racing to get them all done and ready for wrapping! Along with all the other stuff you have to do for Christmas!

At first I was a little shy about giving away "rescued bags" because I didn't know if everyone would appreciate them. I was afraid that they might be insulted by the gift of an old, used bag. I always tell recipients that "not everyone likes vintage, and I understand that.; so it's perfectly okay to give it back to me, I won't be upset. But everyone seems to like the bags and I know of at least 3 people that use my rehabbed gifts often! So that's fun to see.

You did such a great job on rehabbing those bags, katev!! They all look so beautiful and they are such thoughtful gifts that you put alot of TLC into. Merry Christmas!! Thank you for sharing pics!!

You do great work. And I'm sure the time and love that goes into those gifts certainly is appreciated by the recipients.

You did an awesome job, and anyone would love one of your rehabbed bags. They look like new.

Thank you, I really enjoy giving a new life to some poor abused beat-up old bags!

Thank you for posting this! I love how great you make the bags look! I especially loved the Sonoma drawstring! I gave my mother in law a red Regis that I rehabbed because she loves red. I hope she liked it!

A red regis, how special! I am sure that she will love it, do you have any photos?

I should have taken some, but I didn't! It wasn't in too bad of shape, but the outer slip pocket needed to be repaired because the lining was separated from the seam a little. Also, one of the straps was very weak where it was sewn to the bag. It is kind of hard to explain, but both repairs I did myself with some vinyl glue. Then I just polished the hardware and conditioned the leather and it was good to go!
