This is sort of a "what would you do" post. I am torn. My husband wanted to jewelry for Christmas this year. I knew it, but didn't get a chance to visit my little local jeweler until late. I decided I really wanted a semi-bezel tennis bracelet. I like the 4.5 carat for me. It was a little more than I wanted him to spend for just Christmas, though.

In the meantime, he ordered two really great David Yurman pieces for me. They are the midnight melange collection and I like them a lot. My question, though, as far as good jewelry for the money--which would you do. Keep the David Yurman, or exchange for the tennis bracelet? He totally understands and it wouldn't hurt his feelings at all!

Having taken a close look at the Yurman pieces, personally......I'd return and go for the diamond tennis bracelet. The Yurman pieces are not worth it in my opinion. Incredibly overpriced for what they are.

The Yurman pieces are unique and beautiful but can tell that you REALLY WANT the tennis bracelet, and thus, you'll end up spending more by keeping these pieces and then trying to get the tennis bracelet later, or sooner rather than later. :)

Personally, I'd rather have fine jewelry set in gold or platinum rather than silver. I like Yurman pieces and designs a lot, but feel that the tennis bracelet is more classic and wearable for years and years - it's also easy to mix with jeans and a tee or a cocktail dress. A tennis bracelet is a staple!!

I like David Yurman a lot, but I think this particular collection is WAY overpriced. If you are sure that your DH doesn't mind, I would exchange for the tennis bracelet.

Nice dilemma to have!

The only thing that makes me think keep the Yurman is that DH chose and procured them, which is sweet. I do think you want the tennis bracelet more though, which is important.

I received 2 Yurmans for Xmas as well. One, my husband and I decided we will return because it was just too much of a gift! Anyway, we reviewed the return policy and there is NO return on Yurmans. That's right, zero refunds, only exchanges or merchandise credit. Do your research first before you send them back but pretty certain after reviewing the website and our receipts from the boutique. Let me know if you find out otherwise! Good Luck!

He got it at Neiman Marcus--hopefully they will exchange...
