Drunk. High. Suspended license. Illegal or legal weapons. Warrants. Basically doesn't want to catch a charge is usually the reason.
The reason for walking away makes sense, but I'm wondering about the physical ability. By the looks of the car, they should be pretty banged up and unable to get up and flee. Maybe it wasn't as bad a it looks.
Unfortunately, those cars crumple like a sheet of paper and have roll bars/crash frame to protect the passengers. There's also that phenom that the drunk/high person rarely seem to get hurt in the accident, they always seem to hurt/kill others.
Oh, it was probably Chris driving.
If you look at the cabin of the car, it's intact and not crumpled at all. Newer cars are designed to distribute the force around the cabin by crumpling and flxing. So in an extreme accident, almost everything will be destroyed EXCEPT for the cabin.

Chris Brown, Karrueche Gets Restraining Order, Says He Threatened to Kill Her
Chris Brown has been ordered to stay clear of ex-GF Karrueche Tran, after she filed legal docs saying he vowed to kill her and he's beaten her up before ... TMZ has learned.
Karrueche claims in a sworn statement to the judge, earlier this month Chris "told a few people that he was going to kill me." She then says Chris told the friends if he can't have her then no one else can, threatening he was going to "take me out" and "threatened to shoot me."
Karrueche also says several years ago Chris "punched me in my stomach twice," and "pushed me down the stairs." This would have been during the time Chris was on probation for the Rihanna beating.
The legal docs also claim Chris has threatened to harm her friends and even recently threw a drink at one of them.
She worries he's now putting action behind his words, and that's why she got the restraining order.
A few weeks ago Chris posted this video, which tracks with Karrueche's claim Chris was telling friends if he couldn't have her no one could.
The domestic violence restraining order requires Chris to stay 100 yards away from Karrueche, her mom and her brother.
We reached out multiple times to Chris' rep ... so far no word back.

She was a producer for a web series and won a daytime Emmy IIRC. That poor girl is just trying to live her life....the new season of that show should be starting and she's in a new show on TNT (I think), doubt they timed both around Chris Brown's concert.
I wish Chris Brown would get some mental help. Growing up watching your mom get abused clearly lead him down the road of repeating behavior he learned in his home.
