I definitely prefer the white dial too! What I like about the champagne dial is that it has a vintage touch, and the fact that maybe I will be able to use it for more years? Not sure if the RG will stand the test of time, I love it now, but will I still love it in 20 years?

1) you already have a Cartier so might be good to diversify and have something completely different from what you have
2) really like the rose gold with your skin tone
3) like the traditional round shape of the Rolex in that size on your wrist
4) not that I would buy thinking I’d regime but Rolex watches hold value better

You can’t go wrong with either so it really comes down to personal preference. Hood luck with whatever you decide.

Thank you so much! Having tried YG and RG, definitely RG compliments my skin much better. Although YG tends to be more timeless, I think for a watch I should go for RG or only white (just SS). Thanks for your super helpful advice!

I do not like the champagne dial at all in the YG version you posted, a big no for me. The dial makes that watch look dated to me and not crispy, so for that alone, I would pass. I think the white dial keeps it fresh. That's just me, and it's all preference of course. You need to love it, so if you are thinking "it's not bad" or "I can live with it, " the answer is also no.

Since Rolex is in such high demand at the moment, another way to look at these watches is what is left over at the boutique is probably not a popular combo. The popular combos are sold out and distributed to prepays before they even hit the showcase. I have had to order all my Rolexes to get the exact combo I want. It is definitely worth the wait. Or have them do a search if they can. Also call Rolex in Vegas... they seem to have a lot of pieces.

Don't rush or settle... these watches will be around. To me, the white dial is so crispy on you and it pops!

Thank you SO much for your advice, it really helps me! Unfortunately I live in Spain, but going to Vegas for a watch (and enjoying the trip) would be a super plan for celebrating my birthday!

I agree with you that I should go for the combo I love, but the fact is that I like the RG - I wasn’t thinking of a specific combo, so not sure which is the most popular… When I tried on the RG/SS in the picture, my heart started singing. Not so much with the YG though, for the champagne sphere…
I have put them on hold until Monday, so to think of it over the weekend. Another watch I like is the Cartier Ballon Bleu, or the JLC Rendez-Vous . But guess my 40th birthday deserves a first Rolex, right?

Thank you so much! Yes, my Tank has a white dial :). I love that watch so much, I never get tired of it! I would love to add another one that I love the same, to use it everyday and with every outfit (my style is pretty casual, comfy and minimalist). Let’s see what I get in the end… I’ll keep you posted!

Speaking as someone who is 54, who owned a 28 gold champagne dial ans a two tone champagne dial, I can say that they are not easy to read (The tone on tone markers and the sheen is difficult to see) But my eyesight is not the best

also. Who knows what we will love in 20 years :D

I LOVE my tank. Love it. I occasionally think about a Breitling but I know, if I do buy another watch, it would have to be absolutely something I loved to get wear time.

This is an expensive purchase and a big birthday. I would buy what makes YOUR heart sing. Don’t be restricted by what they have in stock and don’t feel pressured to buy right now.

The RG is lovely against your skin. I find it way more modern than the yellow gold / stainless combo which I find to be very dated.

It sounds like you know you like RG and the size you want. Look on the internet at the options and then see if they can be ordered in or look for other retailers.

Don’t. settle.

If your heart sang and you love RG, get it! It’s a beautiful watch in every aspect. Forget if you might get sick of it in the future. You love it now. I loved YG for a long time, but now I truly despise it and got rid of all my YG jewelry, including all my two-tone Rolexes. Do I have regrets I purchased YG? None. I loved it at that moment and wore it for years.

Since you love RG now, get it. It is very popular now if that factors in your decision. You will certainly be on trend.

And yes to a Rolex, no doubt in my mind. Happy 40th!

I prefer Cartier watch’s over Rolex however I own both. I have the two tone Rolex with white face gold Roman numerals and find this combo to be very easy to work into everyday casual lifestyle. It’s something about the crisp white face that just works. The Cartier watches are more feminine imo.

You’re right, living is evolving and who knows what we will love in the future! Good point on the easiness to read - I wear prescription glasses and I will need to see the hour without forcing my eyes :blush:

I will take some more time to decide, and perhaps take a look at some other brands and designs before choosing the one! Thank you so much for your advice ♥️
