Catcat, I have, and love both of these brands. But if you are toting a baby around I would have to vote for the Balenciaga due to the sheer weight of the Paddington. Good luck, ink is a great color!

My vote is for Balenciaga. I carry my City bags most of the time--they are easy to carry and so practical--very important if you also have a child in tow! I do not own a Paddington, but when I did try carrying one, I found it heavy and bulky. Just my opinion!
The paddington is definitely quote unquote "out" right now - moreso than the Balenciaga motorcycle bags. You still see celebs with their bbags, but no paddingtons anymore. Same around the street - I still see bbags but never paddingtons, not even the fakes that were scurrying around during its hay day. I still love the paddington. When I bought my city in 05 I was between a paddington and the balenciaga. I chose the balenciaga because the paddy lock was just so damn heavy - and now I'm glad because it's not so noticeable. The lock on the paddy makes it "trendy" imo, but I think it's removable? Anyway, I'd go with the city just because if you remove the tassles it would be seen as just a regular leather bag down the line as opposed to "oh that's so 2005" - you know?

I had a Balenciaga Le Dix, and found it a little too small for all my things, so I bought a Balenciaga Twiggy, MUCH better! And I LOVE the chloe paddington.. whcoh fits TONS and if jsut so cool looking but it is heavy, that's the downside.. if you wear it all day.. your shoulder hurts more than with the Balenciaga Twiggy.
so total I now own 2 Balenciaga LeDix (1 black one brown)and 1 Twiggy ( black) and 2 Chloe paddingtons (1 chocolate, 1 beige). But I'm mostly and Hermes girl.. I just like to cheat on my Hermes with the Twiggy and the Paddingtons, when I need a "shoulder" bag

I just bought a bag today and was talking with the SA there who told me she just bought a Chloe bag. She went in the back to grab her Chloe to show me- we were chatting about bags! LOL Anyway, she told me as much as she loves it it is soooo heavy her back hurts- she just bought it. I was using my Balenciaga and all the SA's loved it- which is weird b/c no one really knows Balenciaga!
The Chloe she had was really gorgeous but heavy so if you have to chase kids around I would recommend the Balenciaga bag. It's so light weight and that's one big reason I love them so much.
