Greengoddess, I have three and I find the one that has lots of design detail, people, etc, is trickier to wear than the designs that are an all over blend of wonderful colors.
Thanks for the helpful insight Kate! I was lucky enough to find a blue PdV moussie via a PF angel!!! I don't have it yet. It is on its way from Germany. I'm so excited for my first:graucho:
sbelle, your pics of the beautiful Dans un Jardin Anglais in that ethereal blue cw made me ask to see the moussies at my boutique today. They pulled out several different scarves, including your blue Jardin Anglais - it was so lovely, but just did not look as good on me as this one did - Dans un Jardin Anglais in cw 2 rose the/terracota/poudre! :hbeat: It's my first mousseline and I can already tell that yet another H addiction has been started...

Greengoddess, maybe you would prefer this cw??

Melora - my store had the pink cw of Point d'Orgue; I asked if they had any others and they did not.

OMG klynneann your DuJA is stunning! I usually can't wear pinks, reds, or orange with my coloring. But, this might just work! I can't wait to see what my boutique has....I so want this design in a mousseline! Congratulations! It looks beautiful on you. And, thanks for sharing;)

Love this cw! Congrats!

Thank you! I finally understand what people mean when they talk about being able to wear certain colors. With my coloring, I can wear pretty much anything, but the difference between this one and the light blue that sbelle has was striking - there was no question that this was the one for me. :smile1: It is a very faint pink, so hopefully it will work for you too!! I'm looking forward to seeing which one you end up with.

Love this cw! Congrats!

It's thanks to you that I asked to see them in the first place - so thank you!! :flowers:

A question for all you moussie fans - how do you store your moussies? I have been refolding my 90 scarves along their original fold lines and keeping them in their boxes, but I have a much harder time refolding my moussie! The folds aren't as pronounced and the fabric isn't very cooperative. :p What do you all do?

I was told by a museum curator and fabric restoration specialist that continuing to fold the scarves in the same folds weakens that part of the fabric. It won't damage it in the short term but over the very long term that is where the threads will break.

Thanks perfumegirl - that does make sense. Maybe I need to rethink how I store my 90's??

Thanks, hat trick! It seems that with the 90 cm scarves, most people like to try to keep the original folds for as long as possible so I wasn't sure if hanging my moussie was "acceptable". :)

That is true.

I too have been told the same thing about folds by a vintage clothing curator, so I try not to fold on the same lines repeatedly. And I don't use the boxes at all-- easier to be inspired by my collection when I can see the colors and patterns.

Oh dear, I'm going to have to completely rethink my storage system! If you both don't use the boxes at all, do you hang them?

Um, I'm sorry if we're getting OT here...

Most interesting your SA says not to store in Hermes boxes. May I ask what the SA recommends. I know a lot of collectors who do that so I'm extremely interested in this discussion as I love all my scarves and strive to keep them in the best condition.

Mine are in drawers folded on original folds and arranged the way Hermes does in the boutiquesby color so I can see them easily.

Yes, I do fold them on original lines and have been doing that for decades. Nope, no deterioration of fibers or any other loss. But perhaps I should change my method.

Absolutely interested in what you and the other ladies have to say as I'm always ready to make a change.

Maybe there's a thread devoted to it already :shrugs: I can't imagine there isn't unless everybody assumes one just keeps them in boxes.

Anyway, to stay on topic and in answer to your question I have written a blog post about storing scarves. Far too long an answer for here. Different people will obviously need different storage solutions, the most important thing for me is the fundamental underpinning of any storage, and that is organisation ;) . I think anything works so long as it works for them and is aware of any of the pitfalls.
