An oldie but goodie - Gloiria - by Gloria Petyarr...one of my favorite mousselines of all time.

I just think Gloria is soooo elegant, and you look picture-perfect as always, dear!

I've been eyeing all the beautiful mousseline that you all have. They are so gorgeous! :D I've been peeking into this thread and H.com but haven't taken a plunge. I only have 90 silk twills and only started to dabble into cashmere/silk GM shawls recently but these mousseline designs are just so dreamy and I'm thinking that it'd be perfect for cool summer evenings. I'm just curious about the fabric being that I haven't seen one IRL. Is it sturdy compared to the other types of scarves? I'm not very gentle with my stuff and having 2 - 3 1/2 years olds doesn't help. :p I wonder if it pulls easily (I snag stuff with my nails or keys sometimes--:nogood:). Would love to hear your thoughts on if this is something I could use without having to baby too much. I usually just drape my scarf over my neck under my coat or wrap as a shawl. I do find that I still feel a little more nervous with the GM shawls as compared to the twills.

Dear Fabfashion, IMO the moussies are sturdier than they look. I am also not too careful with mine and even the one I am using for some years now is still as good as new! Must have to do with the fantastic H quality... My cat even jumped on one mousse once and nearly gave me a heart attack - and there was not the slightest pull! Zippers are dangerous, though - as for every silk.

And one more dangerous thing about moussies: They are terribly addictive... So you really need to beware... ;)

Fabfashion, I find moussies more durable than CSGM shawls. There's certainly the possibility you could snag them on a ring or a zipper but I'd say they'd be worth your looking into if you already have shawls and twills.
Moussies are just fabulous, it's hard not to fall in love with them once you get your first! :graucho:

Thanks, BritAbroad! I was afraid of that. ;) Was planning on getting another GM but I think I'll check out a mousseline first. They are so lovely.
