Dear pfers friends,
I have a question about mousseline etole(long rectangle).
A friend told me it was very fragile, that I would have to be really carefull with(for ex.,with the car door),because it's long-I would like to wear it that way-.
What's your opinion?Thanks in advance

Hi Anilouann!
Today is my first visit to this area of the TPF. Glad to find your Q here that I can offer an opinion.

Yes, moussey is delicate. One needs to be careful when wearing, because they float so easily, it can be hard to keep under control (but, oh, that is the beauty of this fabric, which, I am told by a SA, is actually sail-cloth! It is actually very strong fabric. I was surprised!)

I wouldn't know about it catching on jewelry, since I don't wear it, but MsS has weighed in on that issue. I think the most vulnerable areas of getting snared are the rolled hems.

Also, while I luv to wear my etole long & flowing, if I get into a car, I am reminded about how Isadora Duncan got a little carried away about style, rather than practicality. I make sure to corral the loose ends of my moussey into the car before driving!

Even at that, I still luv & continue to buy mousselines.
They are like a whispy feather, airborn in a breeze.

Oh, another point. About seasons. I tend to wear my moussey's much more in warmer weather than in winter. It just feels too cold when it's freezing outside.

hope this helps!

Wednesday, this etole was still on my mind,I went to my local store, and told about mousse with my SA.She agreed with the fact it was fragile...but,she told me the one I was interested in was a "crêpe de soie",which is a bit thicker, and more resistant.
So here's my first mousseline,I feel lucky to have find this pattern,'cause it has been edited in 2005,correct me if I'm wrong:shame:(I told my SA "You didn't sold this one,'cause it was waiting for me";)),from Dimitri Rybalchenko:"Hola Flamenca!"

THANKS TO ALL who made this thread, you were really inspiring(My DH would say "it's all your fault":p;) )Thanks again, for all this beautiful pics!

^ mindy I would love to do pics but with my new computer, so far I can't. RANT> Anything I post is what I had on the old computer and they transfered before it died. I can't even send any pics I have (B. dog to the rescue organisation) because the computer wants me to set up a new e-mail acct to send won't accept my aol. I went from windows to vista and am not lovin' it. I have to take it back in so they can find some stuff that was transfered but I can't find. I am sorry but when I get it in I will see if I can make the craziness go away.........

Dear Ani !

Thx for the u/d w/ the panoramic view of the etole--I like it more than original print w/ dancer.

ITA--this etole was meant to be yours. Like destiny.

And, oh uh er um, yup, SAM is guilty as charged w/ raving 'bouts this 4 u--what else could be so glam in 1 EZ chic sweep?

Luv yur look/style Ani! Hope u had a wonderful Easter holiday.

p.s. I think u should post B4/After pix on H-It-Up. It's such a good example of simple, natural movie-star quality glam, in 1 step.
