I think I worked with Linda...that was over the phone...I sent my cousin in for me and that's where she got me my JPG in Rouge Garance...SO...they were pretty nice there...however, they didn't go that far out of their way for me once they realized that I wasn't actually 'walking' into the store...

hehehe...Still got my bag anyway...and LOVE IT!

Hello everyone, i'm a bit new to some of the jargon, can somebody explain to me what a HAC is? And also is there a "secret password" that you need to know for the sales people to bring Birkin out. A few times that I dared to venture into the Hermes store, at the mention of the Birkin bag they almost laughed in my face , you'd think I was asking for them to get me a star from the sky.

This weekend I made my first shopping trip to Hermes in Chicago--not for a bag (don't think I will ever get a Birkin), but a couple of ties for gifts and a silk scarf for myself. The SA who helped me, Elennie, was very nice and not condescending at all; which was nice because about 30 min. earlier I had an unpleasant encounter in Saks in the fragrance dept. ( She was very pushy about me trying a new perfume. When I said I'd used the same scent for a long time, she made a comment about people afraid to try something new).
Anyway, as you all have said, the Chicago Hermes is a great place to shop.

I agree with all the Caroline recommendations! She is very friendly, and we went to the same school in Chicago..
Also Lisa, the store director is very, very, very nice! She tops my list of the friendliest retail people EVER.
I don't live in Chicago anymore but with the only so-so service at the SF store, I may start calling the Chicago store for all my future needs!

i was in chicago 2 weeks ago and i went to hermes (oak street)- they had a huge birking in black croc with the diamonds! (funny i always see the croc birkins - first one in vancouver ) it was amazing!! ( definitely not something i will ever own!) anyway---- i asked this young fellow about the clic-clac (? bracelets and he ended up showing me all the bracelets and everything!) he was so nice and they also were very sweet to my daughter! anyway- they didn't have the color i wanted and i didn't buy anything- but they were still so nice!!!! and yes ^^^ SAKS had some very 'tired' ladies - who all needed a coffee break! chicago is beautiful!

My husband and I were in the Chicago Hermes in September. It was the smallest one I have been in aside from the airport location in Paris. The staff was wonderful. No purses, but we did an insane amount of scarf purchasing. My husband LOVES Hermes trips. I am really lucky. Eventually he will tire of scarves and I will have a delicious purse.

That Birkin with the diamonds and white gold hardware is $130,000+!!!:amazed: Yes, the Saks people don't approach potential customers very well at all. Which is ridiculous, because up and down Michigan Ave. and Oak St. there are so many places to spend money where you are treated nicely.

I was at H Chicago this week. Everyone there was super nice and very helpful. I was able to browse the leather books to my heart's content. They were able to show me a 35cm graphite clemence Birkin with PH, very nice but it was on hold for another client. I don't think it was really my color anyway but it's the first time I've carried a Birkin and I was able to determine that 35cm is a good size for me. I was able to try on several other bag styles too like the Bolide, Massai, and Evelyne. I ended up getting a scarf and a couple breakfast cups, so pretty. I definitely recommend the store. I can't wait to go back again. Maybe I'll have better timing next time. Apparently Birkins and Kellys come in pretty regularly.
